It's the edge of a piece of transparent, heavy duty shipping tape that has just been cut by the cutting edge of the dispenser underneath. The entire image measures just under two inches on the long side.

This excavator had a primary purpose as an earth mover, yet in this snow covered image - it looks like it could have been contracted out to dig through the freshly fallen snow.
Looks can be deceiving.
**Captured less than two weeks ago. The snow has since then melted and Spring appears to have arrived.
Excavators are heavy construction equipment consisting of a boom, dipper, bucket and cab on a rotating platform known as the "house". The house sits atop an undercarriage with tracks or wheels. They are a natural progression from the steam shovels and often mistakenly called power shovels. All movement and functions of a hydraulic excavator are accomplished through the use of hydraulic fluid, with hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic motors. Due to the linear actuation of hydraulic cylinders, their mode of operation is fundamentally different from cable-operated excavators which use winches and steel ropes to accomplish the movements.

I am pretty confident in saying, that for many visitors and viewers, that this old and weathered GMC, is much more than just a bucket of nuts and bolts.

These trucks are highly modified in order to take the shock loads of jumping over cars and buses and often times landing awkwardly on only one wheel. Many components come from heavy duty trucks or old military vehicles. Monster Truck Throwdown at Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie, Virginia.
Unbreakable shoelaces made of a para-aramid fiber basically similar to Kevlar but much stronger the well-know fiber brand.
Although these shoelaces are stiffer and a little harder to tie, they fulfill a longstanding need for shoelaces that outlast the shoes they're on. Over the years, I've found the metal eyelets found in most shoes abrade most standard-issue shoelaces, casing them to break apart.
These practically indestructible laces are made in a factory employing blind and visually-impaired craftspeople.

Roll of heavy-duty mounting tape. The adhesive on this tape is so strong, it's rather difficult to catch the edge of the liner to peel it off.
Loco Moco-A dish consisting of hamburger, steamed rice, shallots, scallions, mushroom gravy, scrambled eggs w/ cheddar cheese. We’ve had this dish the majority of the time we was on the Island of Hawaii. It was delicious to say the least! Then we had creamed hash potatoes, French Toast, and mimosas that had the options of either Orange, Pineapple, Guava, and Liliko’i juices! We had them all save one throughout our ten-day stay.

This was before Merchants closed bankrupt in 1996 leaving everyone unemployed!

The “322 E” on the digital display on the tower of the 'Seemannshöft' pilot station indicates the current water level of the river 'Elbe'. The “E” stands for “low tide” (Ebbe) and means that the water is just running out. The number “322” shows the water level in centimeters above sea chart zero.

Heavy duty farm gate, this top hinge combined with the lower version, allows for the support of 12 feet gates without issue.
A working 1860s saw mill in Upper Canada Village.

See the video, as this is a fully functional saw mill, from the 1860s, that still runs and functions. It is used to cut lumber to produce goods for the museum village.
An open-air museum / heritage park recreating village life in 1860s eastern Canada, with fully functional machinery and era-accurate workers who work the machines and use the techniques of the time to make various things for the village (and gift shop, naturally).
A superb place to visit, full of history and photography opportunity.
Curry Rail's TP56 spots a heavy duty flatcar inside their Hollidaysburg Shop. The was to be evaluated for possible overhaul and return to service. As for late 2020 the car was still in storage.
