Looking out into the Bay of Fundy from the shores of Margaretsville at high tide. The long exposure produces a remarkably different effect: these are the highest tides in the world, and although the waves aren't huge, crashing waves, they're still quite pronounced on a windy day like this one.
This photo, as well as several others, ended up a bit noisy and I don't know why. In all these shots, there was a bit of wind and my tripod isn't the greatest (it's a Manfrotto, but the weight limit is barely more than the D90 with a small lens), but I was shooting at the D90's lowest ISO, with long exposure noise reduction on. I don't really understand why they shouldn't be close to tack sharp (or pleasingly blurred, but not noisy). However, I shot 40-ish exposures 10-30 seconds in duration...would sensor heatup definitely come into play, even on a cold day?
