Being a good source of potassium, niacin, vitamin B6 and folate, apparently tomatoes are good for the heart!
I took this photo back in the autumn last year with tomatoes and oregano from the garden :-) but haven't posted it until now. Part of me is thinking maybe I should have removed the green tops so the heart was only red but I wanted it to be obvious that it is tomatoes and not just red balls LOL!

I know I haven't been around posting in some time. Lurking, and commenting just not posting. I never wanted to be this far behind. What better day to come back w/ a SP than on National Wear Red Day in support of heart heath and women.
Feb 1st kicks off a fantastic month of awareness for men and women about heart disease. Heart Health Month. Did you know heart disease kills more women than any type of cancer? Prevention is as easy as watching eating habits, exercise, stress levels, and medication if required.
Bits of personal background I don't mind sharing:
On my mother's side my great-grandmother left this world due to a heart attack before science was current on this topic or knew how to prevent it. My grandma rarely knew more yet sadly passed away in 2004 after years of strokes after TIA/strokes. I'm not certain but some of her siblings suffered while others are fine. My mom thankfully keeps things in check more aggressively with a change in diet and medication after bad #'s and a doc told her too. My mom's sis I've mentioned before passed on less than 2 years ago from cancer and had hyper tension. My paternal grandma still strives on with a library of info and the toughest will I've ever seen.
Me? Seeing the women in my family suffer kick started me in college to keep track. In my early 20's I began to keep track of all the important #'s. Both my sis and bro thankfully are doing the same and taking what is necessary to "keeps things in check" as they say.
I hope I don't sound preachy or mad. No one can know exactly where they stand unless you keep up with checkups. It's individual and support helps.
