“Today almost 60% of our patients are vulnerable Lebanese who can no longer afford private health care nor medication.” - Rabab, SDC Director
The impact of the socio-economic crisis is increasing multidimensional poverty in Lebanon, leaving the majority of the population without means to access decent health care.
With public health facilities under-sourced & struggling with COVID19, & as medicines become increasingly scarce & costly, UNDP & UK in Lebanon are strengthening the capacity of the Qab Elias SDC through the provision of necessary equipment and rehabilitation to meet growing needs and continue delivering basic medical care services to vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian in the Central and West Bekaa.

I still remember the day I got through the medical college, and it has been a beautiful journey since then. As a kid, I always looked up to my parents who were both doctors by profession and I saw them healing patients with not just medicine, but also love, care and compassion. I just knew that I had to become a doctor one day. By God’s grace and my passion towards this noble profession, I succeeded in becoming a Doctor and I am so proud to be one.
What better day than today, the ‘Doctor’s Day’ to give a special thanks to God and my parents, for helping me realise my dreams.
A very ‘Happy Doctor’s Day’ to all my fellow colleagues from the medical fraternity, and to my parents ofcourse, for their contribution to the medical field.
