I love that golden eye. Glad he was close enough that I was able to capture it.

My mom's camera from 1953. Belive it or not for it's day it had taken some good pic's. Being that I have a Sony F828 & R1 I don't think I'll be using it. lol :-). Nice keepsake anyway.
Apparently there have been several hawk sightings in Winonna Park recently. Yesterday afternoon, after school, I overheard another mother talking about something sitting on someones porch that she thought was fake until it turned and looked at her. I asked her about it and she said it was a hawk. My kids and I both trotted over to the backyard of the house next to the school where, lo and behold, there sat this magnificent creature, quietly sitting and occasionally turning to look at the crowd of children and adults gawking at it. I slid into the backyard to try and get a closer shot (damn a 75mm!) and this was as close as I dared get (about 6-7 feet away). As I did get closer I noticed that it had a kill at its feet. It wasn't eating it....maybe waiting for it to die? I don't know. It was a beautiful, marvelous and majestic bird. But it had large, sharp talons and a large, pointy beak. How fortunate that I happened to have my camera.
