Taken near the Haunted Mansion/Splash Mountain area at Disneyland.
I admit that I was probably one of the biggest drips in Disneyland. I think I spent about 30 min. hovering around this fountain while everyone else was scrambling to line up at the rides.
I had a chance to shoot some promotional images for a local graveyard, the Davis Graveyard. This is not a haunted house, it's technically a front yard, but its far, far more than that. They teach classes to other haunters here on how to make props. These guys are hard core. It was a treat to be able to go inside the gates to shoot these images. If you have a chance to go, I highly suggest it. Happy Halloween!
It's increasingly harder for me to shoot fireworks from Main Street so I continue to look for out of the way places. I really thought the backstage bursts would be more to my left and had to adjust the tripod a little. This is a single shot with adjustments in Lightroom to bring up the shadows in the HM.
Good Morning everyone. I decided to edit a shot of the Haunted Mansion foyer. It is no secret that this is one of my most favorite rides here at the Magic Kingdom. In my opinion, this has to be one of the toughest rides to capture on camera because of the lighting. I hope you enjoy my shot and thanks for looking. Theres no turning back now.

While packing up all of my things in preparation to move across the country, I found an old "fisheye" lens adapter to my grandfather's old canon and held it up against my lens. I pointed it at section of my Disney shelf and caught this cute shot.
"Your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, almost as though you sense a disquieting metamorphosis. Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination — hmm? And consider this dismaying observation: this chamber has no windows and no doors… which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out!
Of course, there’s always my way."
A cast member walks the unloading platform looking for any further foolish mortals that may come by.
I rarely post anything at ISO 6400 especially since it sucks on a D90..but this one capture was rather interesting to me..
Thanks to the virus. I have been going over all of my photos. And found this. This is one of many shots, I always try to get while riding The Haunted Mansion.

One of our stops on our Fall Break trip was Disneyland. The whole place was decorated for Halloween. Here is a "Nightmare Before Christmas" themed scarecrow outside of the Haunted Mansion.

While it isn't a 'true' land, New Orleans Square in Disneyland holds both of my favourite rides - Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean.
The mint julep you can get there isn't half bad either! ;)
Today's photo celebrates my favorite ride The Haunted Mansion. I got in line right before the park closed. I waited for everyone else to get in a Doom Buggy and then I took this shot. I only got one because I could tell the Cast Members were ready to go home so I didn't push it. Turns out one was enough.

Halloween Time has officially returned to Disneyland, and I'm so excited. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and last year I was unable to shoot many of the decorations (due to lens constraints). This year, my 24-70 and I are ready to put some serious shooting on the schedule, so please enjoy this photo of Jack Skellington's decorating!

One of the things I like to do before I get on the rides at the parks is I try to get a shot of the ride vehicles themselves. Most of the time the rides are packed so this hardly ever happens. I got lucky one late night at the Haunted Mansion and was able to get my shot. Please enjoy and have a magical day!

To the right of this photo, Poli also had 12 guest houses built on Merwin Avenue directly on the Long Island Sound shoreline. Both the mansion and the guest houses were designed to have Mediterranean stucco architecture, which at the time was common in Los Angeles.
Speaking of LA, Poli often paid for Hollywood silent movie stars and starlets to cross the country by train and spend a week or two in his guest houses. The main mansion, Villa Rosa, named after his wife Rosa, contained a movie screening room on one of the lower floors. (in fact, in the early 1970s, during its abandoned and deteriorating era, some friends and I found the screening room with its shelves holding many rusting empty film cans).
According to local legend, Poli would screen films to his Hollywood guests which weren't yet released to the public. For many of the actors, that was the first time they saw the "final cuts" of the movies which they performed in.
Once Rosa passed away in 1960, the mansion lay fallow and abandoned until the early 1980s, when it was purchased and fully restored to its previous grandeur.
