Mexican Hat (Ratibida columnifera), is so-named because it is supposedly reminiscent of sombreros in Mexican festivals. It's also called Prairie Coneflower in some guidebooks.
This member of the aster family is a native species found along the Eastern base of the Rocky Mountains, and south to Mexico. This photo was taken at water's edge of Berkeley Lake, a small lake at the northern edge of Denver, Colorado.
Chestnut-sided Warbler
This was one of my goals. To find and shoot a nice male in breeding plumage. He was the third goal of an epic day at Delaware State Forest, Pike County PA.
ROBUST and familiar seabird, one of four seen at Dover Harbour, Kent UK, seen in winter plumage. The Guillemot swims well and dives frequently, it flies on whirring wing beats, and the relatively narrow wings are also used when swimming underwater, This is the only time of the year we may see a few of these passing through, this was seen today (Wed). A real joy !!

When you spend a couple days in Mexican Hat (a great very small town about 20 minutes north of Monument Valley), you have to get some captures of the formation known as Mexican Hat. Liked this one with the CPL filter with the pretty blue sky and clouds. Also had the chance to get some take with showers and sand blowing as well.
*screams like a goat*

Psilocybe bohemica (Agiromycetes). Size of hat 9 mm. Size of whole mushroom 3 cm. For me this hat is an inspiration of Haute Couture, the new hat for winter 2021-22. It reminds us of the fragility and beauty of nature. I expect many people would love to have such an inspiring hat. Before wearing the hat, you have to remove the stalk at the inside.

As we walked around Old Town in San Diego, we came across the hat vendor with his various styles of hats sitting on a table.
Sorry to be absent- hat's off to ALL you great people who still come by to comment and leave thoughts! Still trying to get things under control with some changes at Lagniappe in New Orleans since the storms some weeks back.
(My sister actually bought this awesome batch of hats on the online auction we love! There were 10!)
