I hate Mondays… However, we have to start a new week and Monday seems like a very logical choice. Today we have Mr. Severed Hand with a red band aid on his finger… I will need a red band aid, for sure, to make it through this day. Lets hope it will turn out to be na awesome day ! A friend of a friend gave me this hat today. She had bought it for her dog but it turned out that the dog hated the hat. Fynn has a certain reputation as a cooperative photo model and she thought that he might like it more (he doesn't). Cleo would look great with the Halloween hat but it's likely that I would have to visit a plastic surgeon if I ever tried to put it onto her head. Surprisingly Linus was more cooperative than Fynn, probably because this was something new. Maybe I should have waited for a day with better light as I doubt that Linus will give me another chance. :)

And I think that's how many would have felt about the late forties and early fifties Studebakers back then. The designs were met with a mixed reception and definitely a mixed audience of lovers, and haters, and probably little middle ground. The design of the late forties / early fifties Studebakers included both the Starlite Coupes and the later bullet nosed models, and they came from the pen of Robert Bourke. Bourke had started with Studebaker as part of the design team in 1940 earning $75 dollars a week. The team was led by Raymond Loewy during the 1940s, and Loewy had a talented team working on Studebaker designs, including Bourke, Vince Gardner and, Gordon Buehrig (who was responsible for the great-looking Cord models), and Virgil Exner, (Exner later went on to work for Chrysler Corp and was responsible for their "Forward Look" designs of the fifties and beyond)

Ciertamente, es una relación de amor y odio, ya que todo lo que le da (y le ha dado) a la ciudad, es capaz de quitárselo de un suspiro en las intensas épocas de lluvias.
El río Thu Bon
Atravesando la ciudad encontramos el río Thu Bon, el cual ha dado forma y ha marcado la vida de los habitantes de Hoi An durante siglos.
Hoy en día, pasear por sus orillas o tomar un café a pie de sus aguas es una de las actividades que no te puedes perder.
Festival de la linterna de luna llena de Hoi An
Aunque Hoi An luce como una postal todas las noches, la Ciudad Antigua es más espectacular durante el Festival de los Faroles mensual, cuando los locales lanzan linternas de papel iluminadas al río para promover la buena salud y la fortuna.
