Scott has been developing an idea for a composite shot for a while now and today was the day that everything lined up and we all got out there to help make the vision a reality.
Jo was a trooper through it too; it actually started snowing while we were working on setting up and while we gave her the chance to flee, she stuck to it, dress and all!
I figured the work might make for an interesting "behind the scenes" composite and brought my gear along.
Thanks to Scott for showing me a few Photoshop tricks to help me process too!
Yay team work!
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Here I am hard at work today.
Well, okay... this was during lunch break. But still. Today included rather a lot of standing by to stand by.
And yet I still didn't manage anything more creative than this. ah well. *shrug* Tomorrow should be a beautiful warm sunny day so hopefully I'll take a photo outside in some of that loveliness.
Macromondays: Theme is Looking Up. Just one from me this week, been struggling as usual....
Thankfully the small IT company where I work managed to avoid the worst of the recent down turn. Whilst we stayed profitable and have done considerably better than our competition, the last 18 months have been hard.
However, for the last 3 months teh entire company has been extremely busy and things are really looking up. Lets hope it continues!
fishermen silently at work on the backwaters of Cherai near Cochin in Kerala. The sun had just risen and was casting a golden orange glow on the waters, and they were standing right where th sun rays were falling... as they moved on and turned the corner away from the sun, it felt almost as if they had wandered from color to black and white!

Lots to do in the garden right now and the bees are joining in!! My tomatoes are ripening (a joyous treat) along with a variety of peppers and squash. Keeping it all watered is a it of a chore but one I relish for those peaceful moments it provides.
Has any nice thing ever been said about paying taxes? Consider it the cost of staying free. In the 1940s, when this issue of the Post was published, taxes were used to help defeat a notorious dictator. Now, they may be needed again to defeat yet another.

How do you like my new desk? Nice day out here at the Salton Sea today. Going to take the boat out on the lake later this afternoon.

Ninny was so impressed that I matched a pink polo with a pair of pink socks that she insisted we take this photo. If you want some TMI... I even have pink undies on from H&M! =D

Well, another Monday down and did we ever have the weather to match a Monday. Stormy skies threatened downtown for the majority of the day but did not open up while I was at work. This evening though, the weather couldn't decide just what to do. We've gone from heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning and high winds to calm and sunny. Strange mood Mother Nature is in today.
The wind was so high earlier this evening that it's actually knocked down part of my neighbour's tree, luckily though it fell in the yard and didn't manage to accomplish any damage. I've uploaded a photo of the fallen tree branch to the comments for curious minds.
Work was work, another day, another dollar as they say. I did get some good news while there, so that was a nice change of pace.
Hope your work week has started off well! Only four more days until Friday!

Border Collies take their work & play very seriously. When we play with Shizandra it's done systematically and with a definite routine. This is how Border Collies like it.
I took this the other day in front of where I work. VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) employees have really been busy this winter with all the snow. As you can see, the two highways were in fairly decent shape in this photo, after being hit with the biggest snowstorm in five years overnight. (The side roads were still very rough that morning, but they had them passable by later in the day). Thanks to all the road crews, police, ambulance, and especially the folks out there getting or keeping the power on!
I got very stern orders from the little guy not to bother him while he was writing. I could hear his furtive scribbling all the way from my post at the opposite side of the room.
Spent the last two weeks visiting factories in China. This is deep in a factory outside of Xuzhou, China where bits for horses are produced. I saw some pretty incredible things in my travels. Very hard to put into words, so I hope this photo and those to come will speak for me. Shot #1 in my series "Made in China"
This is a Chinese factory where silk is produced. It isn't really a sweatshop, however.

I need to remember to stop and take everyday pictures of my little guy. I just loved the way he was quietly sitting on the couch coloring. I'm so not good with people photography. I loved this quote from {Emily's} stream so I had to hijack it. LOL!!
