So.. MM Is turning ten years..
Can't believe it...! It seems like it was yesterday when the sim was just starting..
Anyway.. I wanted to share one of the moments of the past year because despite having many others from the past.. Well.. It would probably make me cry if I do so.. Haha.
This picture represents the first time the Hex Club was summoned.. It is some sort of club where older students help the younger ones to get better at their skills.
I am really sorry, I wish I could have more people on this, but I am not that great at pictures, neither at groups.. So I hope the ones missing here forgive me for not being included T__T
And now, I leave you with a bit of the RP that happened that day!
'The First One'
Eilidh Dashwood needed a dramatic change to enter back into the room and pretend this was a new thing.. Because it was... She walks into the Old Dueling Room with a half smile and waves around.. "Hello, hello.. Everyone! Welcome.. Welcome tae the first official meetin' of.. Hex Club!" She said solemnly. "From now on... Ye guys.. Are goin' tae be really good at castin'..." Or so she hoped.. "So.. Uhm.. Aye.. That's we gonna do..." She looked at Linus and Brianna. "We, the responsible..." She struggled to say that work when referring to herself. "...People. Are goin' tae make sure ye guys are alrite.. Which means.. Dinnae worry, we got ye.. " Hopefully at least. "Now.. Before we start.. Ah'd like tae hear from ye.. As in.. What do ye feel ye lack, when it comes tae spells.. And how can we help ye..? And.. Do ye mind tae duel each other whilst practicin'" Oh, the violence in Gyrffindors was strong.
Emily Redwhisper nodded along with E but looked to the others when the lion asked the question. She never liked being the center of attention, even less so when forced to admit her shortcomings in front of everyone.
Jamie Noel Koslarevic listens to E and pipes up. "I am here for my mentee, to help her practice. I'm fine with my spells really. So I'm a responsible." they nodded, totally, practically of age.
Foster Cobris "I'm just here to cast spells at people t'be honest." He admitted, it was a bit of a hobby of his.. "But there's a couple of spells I've been workin' on."
Linus Delaney smiled warmly at Aures, giving her a small salute as she entered, and quirked an eyebrow slightly at Rubicon. Was Ruby the one who...? Nah. That could wait for later. Linus grimaced internally at E's introduction of him as a responsible person. He /was/... Kind of. But still. Outwardly he flashed a toothy grin at the group, then gave E's foot a friendly nudge with the side of his Doc.

MM - HUD v2.4.4: Alasdair Edward Blackwood successfully cast Severing Charm nonverbally!
Alasdair Edward Blackwood grinned wickedly and laughed at Bobby's comment. It was probably the least thing in this entire world that he ever wanted to be. Watching the badger shrink the carrot, he shrugged. "I don't think anyone important will notice." He said, making a glance to Marigold when he did. That was when he noticed the scarecrow. Oh, he just couldn't help himself. He pointed his wand at the head of the scarecrow and watched the severing charm shoot out - slicing the scarecrow's head clean off followed by an amused chuckle from Alasdair. "Ah, gardening is fun."
MM - HUD v2.4.4: Bobby Billings successfully cast Engorgement Charm!
Bobby Billings opened his mouth to gasp before grinning at Alasdair as the scarecrow's head fell off. "Nice!" The boy mused, looking over to Marigold before turning his eyes onto the carrots. "Hey, reckon you could help me stick one of these carrots on there as a head instead?" Bobby mused, flicking his beaten up wand at one of the carrots and calling "Engorgio." Watching as the root vegetable in question puffed up, ridding its top half of soil as it became as big as a large watermelon. "I don't reckon anyone'll notice..."

I received my acceptance packet to Mischief Managed about a week before it went live, in 2012. For the ten year anniversary, I began to search through my saved roleplays for something truly significant enough for such an important occasion. Roleplay sims in Second Life rarely make it to 10 years. This accomplishment is a credit to the amazing community and staff that this sim has played host to this last decade. What I came to find is that there is no way for me to actually chose a 'favorite' moment. Some of the most significant and character shaping moments in my character's life have not been the feel-good moments, though there have been plenty of those as well. Instead, I've elected to show how much a character can grow into themselves, citing this roleplay from the 2021-2022 school year, Year 5 for Lukka. (RL 2013-14). Lukka has always loved potions, and when I played him as a student, I had no idea that one day he'd be running the very shop that he used to buy ingredients from every Hogsmeade weekend. There are many other examples, but I feel this is one of the most fulfilling.
Thank you, Mischief Managed.
Hayden Sorel pressed their lips together into a fine line. Their shoulders heaved for a moment as they breathed through the quickening of their heartbeat. "You... you're like the mum I wish I had. And I... I wanted to wait for help but I let everyone convince me that it would be okay.", they admitted. "The stuff I've seen at school and how bad things could be, I knew we needed adult help but I..." They swallowed and their painted toes curled on the cool floor. "Losing my wand, I lost a part of myself and I don't even know how I lost it."
I’ve only been a member of Mischief Managed for a little over a year now. I even joined Second Life just to roleplay here. I never imagined I would find such a wonderful community with so much creativity and heart. During my year here, my character Jericho has had a lot of adventures. From werewolves to boggarts and dementors to lessons gone wrong, every roleplay has been truly fun and wonderful to be part of. I’m happy to say Jericho has many friends who have been by their side. However, one friend has stood out the most. A friend that Jericho’s been able to be genuine in front of no matter what. A friend that took a werewolf to the face to protect them. A friend who sits outside of busy events Jericho can’t attend with them.
You know and love him, Forster Cobra.
In all seriousness, it took me months to convince Foster to join MM. He was understandably hesitant to undertake such a daunting task like Second Life. He finally took the leap in November, and his character has been such a joy to roleplay. Almost every big moment this year for Jericho has involved Foster in some way, shape or form after he joined the community. Unfortunately, a side effect of him joining late is that he wasn’t there for the start of year events. We did sit down and time bubble the characters meeting though, and the idea for their meeting was so simple and sweet- it fit both characters perfectly.
I decided to immortalize the start of the friendship that became so important to almost all of Jericho’s roleplay to celebrate Mischief Managed’s 10th anniversary. Why? Because the community is so wonderful, and even people like myself or Foster who came in much later can help make this place wonderful and fun to roleplay in. I look forward to more years at Mischief Managed and all the wondrous new roleplayers who will join us in the years to come.

The sound of the station filled the air despite how early in the morning it was. The train wasn’t boarding yet due to the time, but luggage was already starting to pile up. Steam blew through the air, blocking the skylight of the iconic station. The chattering of excited students danced about while many of them were preparing for another year at Hogwarts. Some students were less than thrilled to be going back to school. Some were brand new and the idea of school held both wondrous curiosity and fear. Every student was unique.
One such student was wandering the station. Jericho had left their sisters for a moment. They adored Dawn, but she got frightened so easily. Evelyn herself was always distracted or rolling her eyes at something or another. So while Jericho did enjoy being with their sisters… It was an awful headache sometimes. This morning was so exception. The train station was a buzz with excitement and anxiety so thick that Jericho could practically see the colors painted in the air. However, there was a single quiet spot where the blinding noise seemed to quiet.
Near the front of the train, there were less people. Most people were near the back trying to load their luggage. However, what drew Jericho to the front wasn’t just the quiet. There was a solitary boy sitting against a pillar. He didn’t seem excited or anxious- or much of anything. He was just playing with a small furred creature in his lap. He was just having a good time. Part of Jericho was a bit envious of that. They were always having to take care of their sisters, especially Dawn. Perhaps it was the boy’s carefree attitude that spurred Jericho to approach him. Whatever it was, the soon to be first year peered around the pillar and glanced down to the brown haired boy and his odd little creature before speaking out.
“Is that a jarvey?”
