Here in North America for sure, the skill of cursive handwriting is disappearing. My generation learned cursive handwriting with either dip pens and ink, or cartridge/fountain pens. The inexpensive ballpoint would come soon after my time. My children never learned to use a fountain pen and even gave up cursive, occasionally printing but instead using technology. I am not even sure if their children will learn to write cursive.
These are just some of my writing pens that I have used over the years. I left my Parker out of the photo only because it is filled with ink, while these are not. One issue that strkes Parker 75 owners, on occasion, is that the nib grip will start leaking and need to be replaced. Unfortunately, mine has started it again for the third time in 35+ years of use. With the pen long discontinued, getting even a used grip section is difficult.
I just thought to share this photo before I put them all away again. Happy Valentine's Day to me for my love of the writing pen. :)

The rules are to HANDWRITE the following things:
1. Your name and your flickr name.
2. Are you right or left handed ?
3. Favorite letters to write.
4. Least favorite letters to write.
5. Write out the sentence, "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" .
6. The names of the six of your flickr contacts that you'll be tagging ....
I find my handwriting changes a lot day to day, hour to hour, pen to pen. This is actually not a bad day. I find I wind up skipping some letters (sorry Worldworx) cause my eyes are faster than my hand. Never had a real great handwriting, my grade school teachers would attest to that.
I was tagged by sandra.harri10 and Ginny and the Units (writing) for this handwriting game, and if you see your name here, I'm sorry but you are tagged! You have to write the 6 things, your name and flickr name, right or left handed, letters you like, letters you don't like to write, the sentence containing all the letters of the alphabet, and 6 names to tag. There is no actual group for this.

you're just greedy!!
Those were the exact words I said to Craig the other night - we are having strange moments of saying pretty much the same thing, that probably comes from all the chatting we are doing (check out his flickr page he has some fab photos).
So there you go; my apparently animated writing.
Yeah I can't write simple letters but I can write about a whole bunch of nothing. Go me. Woo!
All you have to do is write:
Name/Username
Favorite letters to write
Least fave letters to write
Write "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"
Left or right handed
Tag 6 of your contacts
Ever since breaking my pinkie, I write with my left hand for "longer items". If anything, I'd rather type. I was the person in high school that would wanna type up a math assignment if it was possible. I typed every.single.thing I could and teachers loved it. I love typing!

Jan. 23rd is National Handwriting Day. Use a pen or pencil to rekindle that creative feeling with a handwritten note, poem, letter or journal entry.
The lost art of handwriting is one of the few ways we can uniquely express ourselves. There's something poetic about grasping a writing instrument and feeling it hit the paper as your thoughts flow through your fingers and pour into words.
Did you know Comedian, actor and educator, Bill Cosby is the most famous pen enthusiast in the world? For years he lent his talent to promoting New York City Fountain Pen Hospital. National Handwriting Day is sponsored by the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association in honor of John Hancock's birthday on Jan. 23rd.
Hancock was the first to sign the Declaration of Independence and is famous for his large, bold signature.
I collect pens so I thought I'd take a photo to honor this day.
