Proof that an expensive handbag isn't always a pointless extravagance can be found at Christie's where several upcoming sales show that Hermes bags can be an investment. On December 9 during the Jewels sale at South Kensington, London, Christie's will auction off 23 Hermes handbags including the Mini Kelly bag in forest green and the Sac Malette style in brown which, gilt with metalware, once belonged to Charlie Chaplin's wife. Shown at right is a rare Haut à Courroies bag. The bag was first designed by Hermes circa 1900 to carry equestrian gear but quickly became a popular travel bag. Hermes produces no more than five crocodile bags of this size a year. It is estimated to sell for £15,000 - £18,000.
Christie's is also offering Hermes bags during the Interiors sale in New York, December 18-19. A bright orange Hermes Kelly bag is estimated to sell for $4,000-$6,000. The Kelly bag has been a prized classic for decades and never goes out of fashion.

A replica of my first purse, only this time with a handle and the button more prominent. I've set 4 2mm blue faceted sapphires onto the handle and the flap.

I made this with 792 pieces of candy wrappers, 792 pieces of recycled paper from a phone book, yellow burlap, felt and thread.

I have been without my computer for days.... now finally with it back home... I can load some photos. I have made a couple of cakes... the others were copies of others I have done so am not loading them... one was another of the 4 tier seashell cakes I loaded the other week... and another boob cake... but honestly I think if you have seen one of my boob cakes.. you have seen them all! LOL

Yay, I've got something more NEW from 2022!
As described a little more in a recent (4/22/22) Update posted in my Flickr profile (at flickr.com/people/99244229@N04/), I had my first opportunity to be fully en femme since before the pandemic. I'm now rolling out pics from this day, March 7, 2022, when I tried out a couple ensembles never before modeled. It was so great to finally re-engage myself as Grace again!
As usual, I really enjoy coordinating attractive/sexy/cute outfits, and this one features:

* Steve Madden black "Quinne" quilted-leather zip-up platform ultra-high-heel ankle booties, from DSW (an old purchase, but I'd never taken pics in them til now);
* a Forever 21 black/multicolor floral-print-mesh bodycon cami-strap minidress, with black-slip lining, a straight-cut neckline, a shirred bodice, and lettuce-hem;
* a Mangopop black square-neck long-sleeve snap-closure tanga-bottom cotton bodysuit, from amazon;
* a Taffeta Alley black PU-leather 2.76"-wide waist belt with double-prong buckle, and 8-row silver eyelets, from amazon;
* WeLoveColors black fishnet tights;
* a black neck scarf;
* a Betseyville black quilted-leather silver-hardware handbag, from JC Penney;
* Kiss imPRESS press-on french-tip fingernails, from Walmart;
* a silver/clear rhinestone-embellished lariat-design layered necklace with Y-front chain, from Forever 21; and
* silver/black bracelets, watch, rings, necklace, and hoop earrings.

This is a unique handmade handbag as it’s round with a front patchwork motif of 2 girls on a see-saw. Patchwork is machine sewn and bag is 50% hand sewn.
It has a back pocket with a patchwork motif of 2 cats and is also purposely sewn in sligthly slanting position. Inside is lined with plain cotton fabric and there’s a pocket as well with the same fabric as the front.
This bag is lined with a layer of fleece batting in between the 2 layers to add durability to the bag. The straps are also lined with fleece batting so it feel soft on your hands.

Height : 26cm / 10"
Width : 26cm / 10"
Depth : 10cm / 4"
Strap : 36cm / 14"
It look casual and elegant at the same time. You can use it day or night. Not too big nor too small. Natural tone, suitable with any clothing.
Again, most of my products are 1 of 1, and this is no exception. One in the world!

Background white embossed and coloured with PanPastel chalk.
The fold-out I made with a Sissix die with two different design paper. An add some chain with pins for the handle and the close button.
I adored this bag in the last issue of Marie Claire Idèes. Instructions were in french, not enough drawings for my taste ( the one problem with MCI IMO), and forget me understanding it even if it were in Portuguese. But I managed to improvise my version . This fabric I had just in case turned out to be perfect for this, it´s some vintage syntethic-mix chintz, it´s light and strong and seems somewhat stain and water resistant. You never know when a piece of fabric comes handily...
Designer Handbag Cake
I made this cake as part of the process of developing my next cake workshop. It was then given away through a 'Nomination for Donation' Giveaway on my Facebook page, whereby 'likers' of my page nominated people who they thought were deserving of a free cake from me!
Lucy and her colleagues from the Early Childhood/Playgroup division at The Northcott Society were selected to receive this cake. The Northcott Society are a non-profit organisation who provide support to 10,000 people with a broad range of disabilities and their families and carers.
The cake is chocolate mud, layered with couverture chocolate ganache. The message on the board is hand-piped and painted silver. All edible, except for the handles!
a coach legacy leigh bag in pink with gold detailing. first time attempting a bag this big with so many details. i'm so pleased with how everything turned out. symmetry is a wee bit off but i think i can do better next time around.
