Wire is probably the most used hand tool. This one is very thin,
its diameter is about 0,3 mm, so it can be used as a thread :)

I tried to break the top of the pencil and capture that moment. It almost looks like slowmotion. I used a blue pencil with a blue paper as underground.

MacroMondays theme is "hand tool"
I thought this corkscrew was clean and shiny. The macro photo tells a very different story!
This spanner is shiny and looks brand new despite being at least 20 years old. When I got divorced I was sure I would need a selection of tools ... for something. I still haven't discovered what. :))
For scale, the little car is 0.75" high.

The FlickrFriday guys want us to show the hand tools we use, to go as a photographer
Well, this is it
My camera, which is obvious 😄
Me, which is obvious 💃
And to go with these two, I show you my inspiration and passion 💕
Which I planted in this photo
Inspiration I get in the different scenery and spots on earth I encounter and explore
Passion comes with me, how can I leave out such an important part of myself
The joy I feel
The hunger I feel
The love I feel
And, actually there is one more thing.
The themes, the admins of the groups I attend to chooses, is actually an important thing to make us grow, evolve, explore and sometimes it even pushes us into things we didn't know we would like to photograph.
So thank you to the admins of the 4 groups I love to follow, thx for the inspiration and the amazing work you do on your spare time.
Can you imagine
They do this for us
That is pretty amazing
Thx from the bottom of my heart to you guys

Lol and you won't even know that I thank you 😂
I have no doubt it is a hand tool, I can even say I am certain it is a kitchen utensil as it was displayed in a shop with other utensils, but I cannot confirm its purpose. It's not robust enough to be a potato masher, so maybe it is for scrambling eggs or frothing milk? It's 5 cm wide, made of wood. Any ideas what this might be? For Macro Mondays group, Hand Tool.
Woodworker checking the blade of his hand plane before taking it to the wood. A craftsman’s hand tools are like a musician’s instrument, they have to be carefully setup and finely tuned to bring that professional edge to the work. This image is part of my ongoing Artisans At Work project.
These are the thinning shears I use to trim the hair around the edge of my dogs ears and around her eyes. They provide a jagged cut edge (after 3-4 snips), so the edge isn't blunt. I "was" using them to do her whole haircut, but since you need to do 3-4 snips per cut, I gave up that idea. ;-)
It was hard to get this shot to under 3 inches, but I finally managed it. That's a teeny tiny lady sitting on the adjustment screw of the sheers.
Lastly.. I never looked so close at my thinning sheers - weird looking blades!
Happy Macro Monday. :-)

I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD

Whats crazy about two sets of hand tools?
Well the crazy bit is because I only wanted one Star Driver to open up one of my cameras to clean the sensor.
I ended up buying two sets just to get one to fit. I have used these tools perhaps twice now.
Love the simple design of this potato masher and the play of light and reflections and repetitions and curves.
Every beekeepers best friend is the hive tool. It is used for maintaining and making hive parts, working with the bees and even when extracting honey. As well as a lever, cutting edge and nail extractor, it can be used to manipulate frames during an inspection, separating the sections of the hive and occasionally killing hive pests or destroying unwanted queen cells. One tool really does it all.
This is my entry for this week's Macro Mondays challenge, Hobby.
Among my many hobbies (Cricket, Photography, Games, Cooking etc.) I like Woodworking to be one of the best.
Not least because it is the most recent one, but mainly because it is like my job as an Engineer - you imagine, you design and you build, you fail, you correct and you succeed.
Also, as many countless people before me have said, making something with your own hands has a sense of satisfaction that is matched by very few other things.
Setup: I used two speedlights spilling light onto two DIY paper diffusers - one to light the scene fully, the other one to get the shiny bevel on the Chisel.
Although, in reality, those shavings were the result of planing wood rather than chiseling, for me this is a more pleasant image.
Having said all that, MY CHISELS NEED SHARPENING!

A quick one this week and after a little thought I settled on our Potato Peeler. The advantage here is it would give me a great excuse to cook the Potato after photographing it and sprinkle with Jalapenos and Cheese.
FlickrFriday: Hand tools. For photography, I like any object at home that can be turned into a cool macro, or bokeh.
Our Daily Challenge: Brush(es)
Compositionally Challenged: Reflections week - the brush is a reflection, everything that is 'real' is blurred and turned into bokeh. :-)

Crazy Tuesday - Hand Tools
This stainless implement is used to decoratively halve round fruit or veg into a star shape...... I have had this for well over 30 years, have no idea what it is called or where I got it from. I regularly use it for lemons when serving fish and tomatoes before I grill them for an English breakfast or a steak dinner!!
I have tried to find something similar online but nowhere to be found!! I would be very interested to know if any of our Crazy Tuesday friends have had one or got one still?
Screw thread Gauge
This simple tool is used to measure the pitch of a machine screw. Generally, you need one set for imperial threads and one for metric threads. Each toothed blade has a number stamped on it confirming the pitch in either inch or millimeter fractions. This humble tool is essential to engineers and has changed very little over the centuries. However, the world's first national screw standard was the British Standard Whitworth (BSW) devised and specified by Joseph Whiteworth in 1841.
The tool is simple to use, just find the right serrated edged blade for a snug fit between the thread or pitch of the screw you wish to measure.
The arrangement for this shot was laid out on a brass plate. The bokeh was created by scattering some steel and brass swarf on the plate.
Many thanks for all views, fav's and comments! HMM!
