I've been looking at this bay for a while, particularly on Google Satellite view. It's out west, one of those isolated little bays that are so inaccessible to all but the most determined. The geology seemed right with lots of black volcanic rocks, and white sand. Perhaps I would find another beach of fantastic patterns like at Fascadale. But no, the tidal flow and elemental conditions must be different, but I found a totally quiet corner of the world, just before the thunderstorm that was rushing in, that was stunningly beautiful with that clear view out to Eigg and Rum.
But I was there for another reason too. I've been handdrawing maps for B&B guests to help them find Ardnamurchan's hidden gems. I had sent one German family off on a loop round Castle Tioram and the Silver Walk and embellished my map with palm trees and skull and crossbones. Apparently they stopped at one dead tree I had shown as a turning point and it made them wonder if this was the dead man's hanging tree, and indeed I had given them a treasure map. When they came home and mentioned that, it made me think, I could put together a treasure map that would lead guests to many special parts of this area, and be a bit of fun if they found the clues once they got to each location. I'm working on it.

I prefered to use a more free style for this drawing better than a more realistic one. It is more about the concept.
