Here I found a real artist and was very satisfied with my hairstyle.

So we came here for many years (in January and February) and admired the new design of the store with massage and pedicure.

Hier fand ich einen wahren Künstler und war sehr zufrieden mit meiner Frisur. So kommen wir seit etlichen Jahren (im Januar und Februar) her und bewunderten das neue Design mit Massage- und Pediküreabteil.

Stylist braiding hair on the walkway just outside her makeshift, closet-size, rented salon in Soweto.

The initial subject was the row of early 20th Century homes but the Hairstylist business gave it an extra dimension. Finally the man sitting in the widow makes the picture worth uploading to Flickr.

Traces of Connection

In this photo, I noticed that the trace of connection between the client and the hairstylist was really in the hairstyle itself. I captured this photograph during Watts Day, a community event in Houston. When the woman got out of the car, her beautiful hairstyle was catching the sunlight on a cloudy, rainy day, like a crown with jewels on it. Everyone was so excited and amazed by the style. I was curious if she realized how much her hair would impact my photography journey when she left the salon. I’d like to share that impact through my photograph I took of her. I also want to thank the hairstylist whom ever it may be, for taking the time to share her creativity with the world.
