In alleyway behind West Hastings. In the shadow of the big "W" of the Woodward building, a landmark in Vancouver; once famous as a commercial center of the city, now as a kind of signpost of urban blight. It seems appropriate that a hackerspace should be here.
Note the reel on the window; this is for lowering the key to enter the building. There's a camera attached to it as well.

Our hackerspace was donated a QuickCircuit 5000 (a CNC PCB engraver) and we're slowly writing package to interface to its AMC2500 CNC controller.
We don't have a license for the isolation path generator that comes with it so we had to work out some other way of making it make things. We did receive a demo copy of the CAM software and managed to reverse engineer the ASCII serial protocol.
At this stage we can read gcode files generated by pcb2gcode for Eagle and have the engraver draw it out with the super advanced pen-and-gaffa-tape tool head. It'll be a few more hacking sessions before we're doing cutting runs but the current progress is encouraging.

Our cart full of scopes and other gadgets. It's on wheels for easy moving, but judging by the collected debris beneath is usually quite stationary.
The picture was taken in Aarhus' hackerspace OSAA (osaa.dk) in the morning where nobody is hacking and the only noise heard is the quiet hum of an ancient AS/400 server
We took this picture in space, guys! There are lots more on the camera. I'll post a link here when they're online. Launch: Horseshoe Farm Park in North Raleigh. Recovery: Sunset Ave in Rocky Mount.
