Have a good week everyone.
1947 Devon General AEC Regent 3/Weymann in The Strand, Torquay on 33. A photo from the late Phil Holley collection. Withdrawn June 1960, passed to Brown, Markfield June 61 and Armstrong, Westerhope March 63. Scrapped after accident December 64.
And a very merry Christmas-y one!
(This is the type of photo I can get if Da Boyz wrestle really close to me when I have my macro lens on the camera.)

Reindeer are not just for Christmas.
We did smile and wave at the CCTV.
They probably thought we were more fascinated by the sign and the electricals rather than the telegraph pole.

One last tongue post for the day. . . isn't she irresistible?

I am so grateful to have Gumbo and Miss Raven back to relatively healthy, incredibly happy felines. Please, everyone, be aware of possible nutritional deficiencies even if you are buying supplemented BaRF (as we had been doing). I have ordered all my supplements and am ready to add my own concoction to the next batch of BaRF. Both Gumbo and Miss Raven are doing marvelously well right now for 17 and 18 years old. I'm so thankful. After all, there's enough stress between Bogart declining due to his bone cancer and Magnus' sudden and completely unexpected illness. No more drama, please. Glad we've weathered the worst of Magnus' hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Magnus even went on a short walk with Kevin today. Yep, he's clearly getting better and better!

This is a old shot of my angel Nikki taken in 2005 when she was 10 yrs old.
I was so happy to find these lost photos of her just last night!! More to come:)
Tyler's glucose levels did reduce one week but then the next week increased. Each week is becoming more and more stressful for him at the vets. They were unable to take a blood sample last week as he was so upset :(
I'm going the vets tomorrow with Mum. They're meant to be looking for other options for his blood tests as the weekly visits are becoming too much for him to handle.
couldn't decide which shot to post for Textural Tuesday so thought I would upload them all! All are taken at Swansea Marina - shots of the weir and fish pass and cropped in heavily to just get a small abstract detail.

and above him perhaps one of the most fun obs of 2018
a
Long-billed Dowitcher LBDO (Limnodromus scolopaceus
that had just flushed out from the edge of pond and LANDED on the water out in the middle with the ducks.
It didn't stay out there more than a few minutes but i think it is rare to see a lot of the shorebird species swimming.
Always fun, but beyond phalaropes , it is usually a case of after getting a bit deep and they swim a short distance to begin wading again.
Not the case here... given the distance and excitement i only just managed to cut off the reason for the photo doc.
Also of note was a few visits to this location during this time period had 5 species of Aythya, also fun

CANV is notable in our area, when obs are not in a few regular locations.
REDH sightings are notable in our area - anywhere- although this year has been better with at least 1 or 2 moving about over the course of winter (up to posting Jan 22 2019)

This boy had a decent night. Some urination issues in the bathroom I'll have to clean up as well as some emesis yesterday afternoon, but no messes overnight. Oh, wait. One mess. I've never seen a cat dig out the center of a roll of toilet paper in the past. He does impressive work! Note to self, next time put away the TP. Guess the other ferals and strays I have trapped have not been prone to shredding toilet paper.
