1 Canal Street, Holyoke, Massachusetts – USA
This Second Empire building dates back to the early 1870’s and housed the offices of the Holyoke Water Power Company. Holyoke Gas & Electric acquired the property in 2001.
This Geep was built as ACL 154 in February 1951 for the Atlantic Coast Line as a GP7. After the 1967 merger between ACL and SAL into the Seaboard Coast Line, this locomotive became SCL 742. As part of SCL's rebuild program, this Geep was overhauled at SCL's Uceta, FL shops into a GP16 and released as SCL 4776 in December 1981.
After the formation of the short-lived Seaboard System, the GP16 was renumbered to SBD 4776 before becoming CSXT 1822 after the formation of CSX.
CSX retired the locomotive in the 90's, selling it and some branch lines in West Virginia to the newly formed Gauley River Railroad. It received new paint and reporting marks as GRIV 1822 in preparation for the new job. Unfortunately, the GRIV operation fell through and the locomotive never turned a wheel for the Gauley River RR. This GP16 would spend some time leased to the Shenandoah Valley Railroad in Virginia (still as GRIV 1822), before being sold to Hardeman County Grain Co in 2006. The locomotive briefly became AARX 1822 for shipping across the country, then assumed its new role as HG 1822 on the plains of north Texas.
The grain elevator in Chillicothe is no longer owned by Hardeman Grain (it was purchased by Louis Dreyfus Commodities in the late 2010's, and then by Lone Star Grain in 2022), but this nearly 75 year-old Geep still wears its HG paint and reporting marks.

Built as MKT 1520 in November 1951, this Geep has worn a lot of reporting marks. It was renumbered to MKT 110 in 1958, a number it would keep for the rest of its career. When UP bought the MKT, Uncle Pete had no use for MKT's old GP7's. So the locomotive was sold in July 1989 to Wilson Railway Corp, who then flipped it to shortline Hartford & Slocomb as HS 110.
The H&S was bought by shortline conglomerate Gulf & Ohio in 1992, and G&O went on to use the locomotive on several of their shortlines. Besides the H&S, it was used as WGCR 110 on the Wiregrass Central and as AGLF 110 on the Atlantic & Gulf. The Geep was eventually sold to LRS Companies in 2006 and became LRSX 110. Hardeman County Grain Co purchased the locomotive in 2008, giving it new paint and a new reporting mark in early 2009 as HG 110.
