The spring haven't arrived yet to Finland. No blooming to be seen so i haven't been very active with photography lately. This LE shot is from last summer. Sadly my Canon 50D's noise control even with 400 iso is crappy and i have hard time to create pleasing results with it. Even with photoshop i cant seem to fix the problems often. I now days mainly just stick to 50d+sigma 50mm f.1.4 combo, which i love. Take care!
I haven't been very active with photography lately, but I still have so many unused photos in my archive, so I'll show you some of that.

Haven't been up to the mountains for ages so posting an older image of the handsome male Bear 164 (I edited out his ear tag). This profile shot shows the distinctive Grizzly dish shaped snout. Since this sighting he's been in a fight with another bear and has a nasty bite on his face.
Haven’t posted an animal pic for awhile, thought I’d better hop to it. Struck up a conversation with this little guy, he was well educated , every book I mentioned he’d reddit. Quite the philosopher to, told me that “time’s fun when you’re having flies”.
Okay no more, puns , heading off to listen to some hip-hop..

I haven't done a Pep Ventosa style image for a while, so when I came across this pretty little tree all decked out for Spring and standing all by itself, it seemed like a good candidate. Inspired by the style of Catalan artist Pep Ventosa, the method involves walking around a subject while taking multiple shots along the way, then merging those photos together in post processing. This image was made using all 14 shots that I took. And since it's Sliders Sunday, I've added a dollop of painterly processing as well.

I haven't been in here much because I've been wallowing in self pity. I was just diagnosed with cancer and it's located in my neck. The doctor is pretty sure it's curable and he has a 5 year plan. In the mean time lots can happen. I'll probably lose about 30 lbs, could lose most of my teeth and could lose the ability to talk. I'll be starting radiation and chemo later this month. It still hasn't completely sunk in and I'm still having trouble talking about it. I'll still be looking at your work but I just may not be contributing as much

This is Dana. I worked with her on some volunteer projects. Haven't seen her in a long time so I stuck her in this picture so I can she her again..:)
Still working from home. Kinda lonely but I'm saving a lot of money on gas. Restaurants are really struggling. But, oddly enough, a new one opened up on the east side last weekend. Three of us went there for the grand opening and ordered burgers. They asked how we wanted the meat and we all said medium well. All 3 came out well done..;) We ate them anyway. They had live music. Lots of Rolling Stones songs and Beatles so we didn't really worry about the food. I still don't like paying 14 dollars for a burger. Just seem like a lot to me, but I guess that's the way it is everywhere.
I was off work relatively early today, so decided to stop at Leslie Spit for a few photos.
The colours in the sky, and reflections in the ice were incredible, I only wish this photo could do the scene justice.
By the end of my 2 hour walk, my fingers were numb with cold. I did however have a great time, I haven't had many opportunities to get out with my camera this winter.
I haven't been to Penmon for a while and after posting yesterdays shot decided today would be as good a day as any .....some wonderful wave surges over the close reefs made for several aborted exposures while i pulled the camera away form the incoming waves ....after many close shaves and many splashes over myself and the camera I managed this shot .....
Haven't done one of these for a while...Happy Fence Friday...hope you're all in for a good weekend whatever you're up to.

I haven't been able to go hiking the past few weeks and miss being out with my wildflowers. I have had to "resort" to skulking around the neighborhood looking for interesting things to shoot. Hope you will enjoy my selections!
I haven't been here for a few months now and I am brimming with some photos that I took during that time and I want to share them. Perhaps not very inspiring but still it was so much fun to take them.

............haven't seen one of these little fellas in several years. This is the immature land stage of the aquatic red spotted newt. They spend about two years in this land dwelling stage before returning to an aquatic habitat to mate and lay eggs.
In its aquatic stage it is a light brown color with a lighter underbelly . The brown is flecked with tiny black speckles, interspersed with larger red spots....... hence the name red spotted salamander. The aquatic stage also develops a flatter, blade like tail for swimming.

I haven’t been out photographing over the Xmas period opting to spend more time with family before work starts again.
Here’s an image of a stormy sea at Filey from sept 2020, that’s our van site on the right that was getting full on 50mph winds and gusts, a great weekend.

Haven't be able to get out for variously reasons to shot lately so here's one I made at the beginning of the year.
I haven't been to the beach for a while as the weather has been so dull, but today is a day of sun and showers so I have to go. Only in the past is by The Be Good Tanyas. I miss the beach if I haven't been for a while.
I haven't posted this before... It bothered me that his eyes were different sizes, I guess... but I keep coming back to it, because of his earnest, friendly face. Guru makes a lot of eye contact--one of the things I really love about him. That's why I'm choosing this image for this week's Happy Caturday group theme: a photo we love of a cat that we love.

I haven't been here (Joy Mountains) since our semi lockdown from the middle of May. I'm glad I was here again. Faced this beauty, I thank God and pray.
Mount Hehuan is a 3,416-metre-high (11,207 ft) mountain in Central Taiwan. The peak lies on the borders of Nantou and Hualien counties and is located within Taroko National Park. Hehuanshan is a popular destination in central Taiwan. The 3,421-metre east peak and 3,422-metre north peak of Hehuanshan are both higher than the main peak.
Mount Hehuan is part of the Central Mountain Range.

Though I haven't taken pictures of the tribute every year, I noticed I've now got a few images from this spot with the new World Trade Center tower in various stages of construction. I guess this one now completes the set.

This European Gold Finch was the first of many birds taking advantage of our birdbath on what was a very hot day (35C.)
An unexpected and sneaky shot through the good old lounge window bird hide and the camera hastily held at knee level. We haven't seen a gold finch in the garden for a few years now. Earlier this day we also had a green finch! Lovely to see them both back in the neighbourhood again.
I haven’t post for a long time because of new virus. I stayed at home and thought that I might not take pictures outdoor anymore. I have taken about 100,000 pictures since 2014. I took pictures with the Nikon D5200, D7200, D800, D850, and Sony RX1R. It is time to retouch and montage all my old photos. If you can’t take new pictures, then you can also retouch your old photos. I haven't posted any photos of Filou in a long time, so here he is although he was obviously too busy to look at me. He was sitting on a table and looking down on the Dragon who was waiting at the backdoor (see next photo) as he wanted to go out. Filou knew very well that the Dragon would convince me to open the door for him and if it all worked out as planned he (Filou) could sneak out as well. It worked ...
