Requisite tour guide photo!
Just realized that I don't have a photo of our Istanbul tour guide posted. Must remedy that asap because she's easily the most bizarre of the bunch.
The book 'Rembrandt Without Words' is designed for children around the world who visits the Rembrandt’s House in Amsterdam. Without using text and images we instead used icons to guide the children around in the beautiful house of the master. By various techniques such as stickers, thermal ink, carbon paper, forms of government and odor ink the book stays exciting and surprising. With this book children learn a lot about Rembrandt through a playful and fun way. In collaboration with Margriet Hogenbirk.

The guide piece had a 3/16" slot milled in it, but that wasn't quite wide enough. So I climb-milled one side a little more. The sides weren't quite square, so I put a parallel through the slot to make *it* parallel to the table, and clamped the guide in the vise. That let me mill one edge exactly parallel to the slot; once that was done, turning it over let me mill the other side equally square.

I forgot to ask his name...but he didn't ask mine either. He was real nice and knows alot about everything at this place. I think I got annoying at times when he was explaining something and I'd finish his sentence for him as I already knew what things were. I need to learn that people have two ears and one mouth.

A great ride, we were slow to start and had an unlucky spate of punctures so we ended up riding into the beautiful evening light. Dave was visiting us for his third year running and the rest of the group were on their second trip. A great day out.
