Dreams become goals when you believe in yourself and they become true when you put your faith, soul and efforts in all you do, when you keep going and fighting for what you want in life, when you are willing to learn from everything and get up stronger, wiser and even more determined after each fall or hardship. Always keep hoping, believing, growing, improving yourself and your mindset, be grateful and keep your happiness and standards close to your heart regardless of anyone else or anything you go through.

This modern art sculpture was in the National Gallery of Art in Ottawa, Canada and is by Nancy Graves (Camel)
Mom always taught me I should be open minded about art and I think, though I had a tendency to be a little rigid and melodramatic, it helped me see that there is a place for all different kinds of art and humans in this world. Even that, "diagonal line" that really splits up the room in an interesting way.
Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there!

Two images uploaded today. Same negative, same printing session using Moersch Easy Lith 25+25+950. The only difference is the paper used. Here I used Agfa Brovira grade 4
Lith print using Moersch Easy Lith 20+20+960 on expired Agfa Brovira.
Note: it is very interesting to see the differences of using various expired papers for Lith prints. I've acquired a huge pile of old paper lately, so lots of experimentation coming up!
Lith print using Moersch Easy Lith 20+20+960 on expired Agfa Brovira
I can't remember which camera was used, probably Nikon F801-s

Lith print using Moersch Easy Lith 20+20+960 on expired Agfa Brovira.
The lith developer was a bit exhausted, but I kind of like the effect.

The outcome largely depends on your own choices. And sometimes you just have to accept, move over to another negative and make it positive. ;-)

When you have a Growth Mindset, you believe that your vote and your voice means something and you raise children to also believe this. And, when you have candidates who don't follow through, you protest and vote them out. This is what we must continue to do. A new America is not just new leadership but a new philosophy on being an active citizen and what it means to stand up for human rights and to have definite opinions on progress and ethics. A new America needs to see the data on climate change and act. A new America needs to support Science and get a safe vaccine out to states as soon as possible. A new America needs to welcome immigrants and support public education again. A new America needs to provide health care to its citizens and put more money into funding communities with proactive mental health than policing its people. A new America needs to end for profit prisons and work actively to end our history of institutionalized racism.
Having a fixed mindset means you become complacent and don't make demands because you think your voice is meaningless. It means you let good people suffer while you watch your country slowly fall apart like a patient with a terminal disease. You hold up your hands, only slightly convinced you could have done better and made a difference. But, you just spend all your days being afraid or angry or lazy or a sad combination of all three.
Which one will you have for the next four years for your country and for the world? How will you fight for human rights? How will you make this world a better place than when you entered it?

4x5" pinhole on Washi paper negative (Film Washi 25 iso, metered at 3 iso, tray developed in R09 1:50 for 4:00 minutes)
Darkroom print on expired Ilford RC paper, toned in Amaloco T50 and sepia.
I had overexposed this darkroom print so I might do as well some experimentation.
1) The print was bleached strongly, and redeveloped in expired Foma sepia.
2) After about 10 minutes there was only a half faint image, and I decided to replenish the Sepia B dilution with some fresh stuff.
3) To my surprise the toner now only reacted to the dark tones, where normally sepia reacts more to the mid tones and highlights. With this rather graphic image as a result.
It may well be this particular print. but nevertheless interesting enough to share.
Lith print (8x12cm) using Moersch Easy Lith 20+20+960 on expired Kodabrome II.
Notes: generous overexposure of 3-4 stops at least, followed by relatively short development time (for Lith).
Camera: Nikon F2 (1976) with Nikkor 50mm/f1.8 AI

Lith print using Moersch Easy Lith 20+20+960 on expired Kodak Royal Bromesko grade 1, 13x18cm.
This paper is extremely warm, as you can see. It also is scarce, so I'm lucky to have found a couple of boxes.
Negative: Fompan 400, developed in R09 1:50 for 11:00 minutes
Camera: Nikon F2 with Nikkor 35mm/2.0 pre-AI
Playing with focus, now that I've discovered the "trick" for manual focussing with the Nikon F2: use 1 diopter smaller than normal reading glasses.

Darkroom print on expired Ilford speed 3, developed in Ilford warmtone and toned in sepia and Amaloco T50
Lith print (8x12cm) using Moersch Easy Lith 20+20+960 on expired Kodabrome II. The paper is old, but new for me.
Notes: generous overexposure of 3-4 stops at least, followed by relatively short development time, however I didn't clock it precisely.
Camera: Nikon F (1971) with Micro Nikkor 55mm/f3.5
I'm experimenting a bit with vertical compositions, which will end up in Japanese-like scrolls, as part of my ongoing 'not Japanese' series. I've adapted a dark slide so I can make 2 enlonged shots on one sheet of 4x5 film.
This print on expired cheap glossy RC paper is far from perfect, but is gives an idea of where this might be going.
Does anyone have an address where to obtain the scrolls themselves? Or should I be making them myself? Any constructive feedback and/or ideas are welcome.
Playing with focus, part 4 of a small "Fence" series.

The Golden Spectral of Leadership
Leaders require their followers to possess three essential qualities: competence, reliability, and moral goodness. Those who fail to demonstrate these traits cannot gain their leaders' trust. However, when followers exhibit these qualities, they establish a foundation of trust that enables their leaders to pursue ambitious goals, make dreams a reality, and inspire others.
