Celebrating tree growth and tree Tuesdays everyday! A joy for me to see. (I wandered around this year to view, but without a camera.)
"The Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) is an evergreen conifer species in the pine family, Pinaceae. It is native to western North America and is also known as Douglas-fir, Douglas spruce, Oregon pine, and Columbian pine. There are three varieties: coast Douglas-fir (P. menziesii var. menziesii), Rocky Mountain Douglas-fir (P. menziesii var. glauca) and Mexican Douglas-fir (P. menziesii var. lindleyana)."

Brazilian Ruby - Male - Brazilian ruby is a species of hummingbird found in forest edge, second growth, gardens and parks in eastern Brazil. It is the only species placed in the genus Clytolaema. It is common and among the species regularly seen at hummingbird feeders within its range. It is a relatively large hummingbird. Wild - At Trilha dos Tucanos, Tapiraí - São Paulo.

Godafoss (The Waterfall Of The Gods) is Iceland’s most impressive and beautiful waterfall.
Its name is associated with the country’s history. Having been settled on the 9th and 10th centuries, the Norse pagan religion was dominant. With the growth of Christianity throughout Europe, the pressure to abandon Norse increased to the point that Iceland feared an invasion. In 1000 AD it adopted Christianity as the official religion and the decision maker made the symbolic gesture of throwing the pagan idols into the waterfall. Hence its name since then: The Waterfall Of the Gods.

I took this photo in the middle of last month. It is one of my yellow hibiscus flowers. As Autumn was encroaching they were trying desperately to flower but the colder nights were stopping them in their tracks and this is as far as they got. Plus, the yellow colour of them was coming out more like orange. I like their shape (& colour) despite the stunted growth
I'm enjoying seeing the new growth in my wife's garden, including the grape hyacinths springing up through the ivy.
Don't you just hate it when your vegetables go feral!

we're in the early stages of spring. it's a rich time to pay attention. buds appear, then leaves, within days. plants grow inches within a single day. these are just-birthed leaves on my backyard maple tree. they glow and dance in the sunset light.
Potting utensils left behind next to the kitchen garden in the "Haus der Offiziere", an old military training quarter in Wünsdorf from 1910. After the war it served the Russian military in East Germany until 1994.
This spectacular hummingbird is found in humid forest and tall second growth from eastern Pamama, south through western Colombia and Ecuador, to far north-western Peru.

Went out quickly when the sun showed itself briefly just after the Alert Test this afternoon - I was looking for something yellow , but found something pale green . I am not sure what type of tree is coming out here but it still caught my eye !!
* This image is fairly minimalist . A quiet track through woodlands near Goodmanham showing all the freshness of new spring growth . I do like April, in might be very wet and cold this year but the transformation of spring even after experiencing 70 of them still astonishes me .
