What’s for dinner

I had seen this truck in Cambridge ON at a tire place. But it was always sitting in an odd spot blocked by a telephone pole. Then one day by chance it was on a side street in Paris on. I get out my camera and take a shot.

This 1960 flatbed truck, a product of the White Motor Company, is parked in a remote corner of downtown Wheaton. It happens to be for sale, if you're interested, for its original purchase price of $2,500.

A female mountain bluebird gives me an inquisitive look. Possible she was seeing a reflection in the lens or thinking that long lens hood would make a great nest site.

This young lady seemed to like my car quite a bit too, checking out various parts: side mirrors, grill, hood, tail pipe, wheel wells, roof, and probably other parts I didn't notice her looking over.

Clover Grill

French Quarter

New Orleans, LA

Sept. 2002

Photo restoration using Epson V600 and DxO Phtolab 6. Kodak Advantix camera. Film unkown.

We woke up from a night in the French Quarter needing some food to help with a hangover. The city was still asleep aside from delivery trucks and city workers removing trash from the night before.

We could hear music in the distance and the faint smell of diner food. That's when we found the quaint little Clover Grill. In contrast to the rest of the city, it was bustling inside. I think some of the patrons were still up from the night before. There was a little radio playing past and current hits form pop divas.

That's when we met Earl. Earl was working behind the counter and singing at the top of his lungs to the radio. And not horribly I might add. He was a boisterous fellow but very polite. His mood was infectious.

Eating at the Clover Grill was not just a meal but an experience. But that's New Orleans.
