Did you know this iconic Flying Eyeball motif has roots in the 1950s Kustom Kulture movement? This symbol was famously adopted and popularized by legendary pinstriper and artist Von Dutch (Kenneth Howard), who considered it the "eye in the sky" that "sees all and knows all."
Von Dutch’s work brought the symbol out of antiquity and into the Hot Rod and motorcycle scene, cementing its place in Lowbrow Art and counter-culture graphics. My take on the Flying Eyeball carries that vintage rebellion, filtered through the vibrant, colorful pop art style that defines Simeone Graphix.
