Shiv has been working as a freelance illustrator for the last 10 years... give or take. Her illustrations are created from photography and photoshop. This can give some of her work quite a realistic feel within her quite abstract subject matter.

For this project, we were to choose 2 topics to do an ad, a poster, and a brochure for. We were to choose two topics: one related to the design industry, and one for a non-profit organization that was in some way related to our interests.
The non-profit organization I chose was VH1's Save the Music Foundation. I should point out that I am in no way affiliated with the actual foundation, but that I just appreciate the work they do and greatly respect the people involved.
VH1 Save the Music Foundation is "dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in America's public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education".
The advertisement is aimed towards musicians and parents, as they are most likely affected or touched by the situation. The advertisement is intended to show the relationship between music and eduction. The colored bars are to reference bars on a sound board and create the idea of movement of sound going up, also visually relating to the idea that music education will also help a child grow.
Hypothetically, this is a proposal board of the advertisement and in context. The advertisement would be placed in Rolling Stone magazine as it is a staple of the music community and a prominent leader in the industry.
