When the kevlar-based sample is put into water, polyvinyl alcohol within the sample traps water inside the network, obtaining the strength of cartilage.

Research interest:
My research interest includes theoretical and experimental research related to the field of water resource and environmental engineering with an emphasis on groundwater fate and transport, environmental implication of nanotechnology, groundwater contamination and quality control using advanced technologies. My interests also include simulation and modeling of salt-water intrusion and costal salinity, application of optimization in groundwater-surface water interaction and usage in multiple scales.

Graduate student Wipada Wunthunyarat investigated means of improving the quality, texture and flavor of gluten-free rice flower.
Virginia Sea Grant Graduate Students, Virginia Institute of Marine Science Lab Technicians, and Research Experienced Undergraduate students construct and operate a vibracore system for geological sediment sampling on July 10, 2018 at VIMS Beach in Gloucester, Virginia.
The research team will prepare and examine the sediment samples they collected in the VIMS Coastal Geology Lab for further analysis.

Robert Thomas, (U-M MSE ’22) demonstrating the work he did as a student for the FAA visual scanning project in the lab at the Industrial and Operations Engineering Building on the North Campus of the University of Michigan on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
The project, ‘Flight Crew Visual Scanning Techniques on Transport Category Aircraft’ was funded by the FAA and aims to improve flight safety in commercial aviation by looking at how pilots scan and monitor instruments on the flight deck and by evaluating the impact of flight deck design on monitoring and scanning.
