MYANMAR, Burma, on the edge of Inle Lake, rustic Buddhist pagoda forest with tomb stupas from Indein (Inthein,In-Dein).

The pagoda forest is west of Inle Lake and can be reached via a canal. The oldest tomb stupas in this cemetery date back to the 17th century[1] but new stupas are still being built today. More and more old monuments have now been renovated, resulting in a colorful mix of gold, stucco and bare, sometimes overgrown brick.

I was photographing these "Lucifer" buds the other day right after the rain stopped. When I uploaded this image, I saw these awesome green rays behind the bud, and realized that they must have been leaves. I love surprises!

The Herring Gull picked off this unsuspecting Atlantic Puffin and tried to make off with the tasty meal. But to no avail. The puffin, you all will be glad to know, escaped the wily clutches of the ferocious gull.

The Long-horned Bee was close enough that the Flower Crab Spider grabbed the Bee with its strong front legs! The Bee attempted to sting the spider and had enough forward momentum that he was able to escape the clutches of the spider. The Bee then made several flybys and buzzed the spider. This made me laugh as the Bee was very angry that the spider would to try to eat him. The Bee then went back to foraging for pollen and the spider crawled under the petals.

and let's play.

Taken at Sunny's

For a brief couple of minutes on this morning's dog walk there was the most wonderful light from a mix of relatively low sun and a bank of dark cloud.

Could have done without the wire fencing which marks the extent of the land associated with the latest lot of new-builds on the edge of Alnwick, but there you go!

The shot was taken at 59th and Central Park North in Manhattan. Those people were running out of one of the Time Warner Center towers flic.kr/p/NEKVWt

as I was trying to take a shot of the skyline.59th St is one of the few locations in Manhattan where one can catch a view of the skyline from the street. Most of the buildings shown here are residential,a few are hotels.Central Park is just across the street from them. The small white building (far right) is an art and design museum, and one of the few museums in the city that allows visitors to take photos.I took the shot as I was walking to a nearby subway station to go home,I had a loooong day 😩

Spring warblers continue to elude me, so here's a shot I took two years ago today, that I haven't previously posted.

Canada Gosling (Branta canadensis)

The heat and humidity were off the charts with a hurricane in the Gulf and tropical storms in the Atlantic and this little family found a spot of water to cool off in and one of the twins grabbed a snack as they stood there.

Whilst bouncing up and down on the boat and returning to the mainland this cormorant (I think) came swooping down. Rather than duck (no pun intended) I grabbed this one shot and even though it is clearly out of focus it has a certain something that I find quite likeable.

While taking a few photos of this busy Pileated Woodpecker I only noticed when the photos were uploaded the wood boring beetle grub (marked) it found and ate.

Thank you for viewing

Grabbing a nice fair weather day before winter weather starts showing up I was just out getting some fresh air. Here in the northeast US we have had to have had one of the mildest Autumns I have ever seen with many days into the mid 60's and several in the 70's in the last 30 days. Normally in November in my youth and pretty much most of the 20th century November is where you would get normally get close to freezing temperatures at night and cold damp biting winds during the day and around Thanksgiving weekend the first snow storms of the season would be hitting.

Eagle fishing on the Susquehanna River. Normally I like to show the eagle with the fish but in this case the eagle missed the fish

Painting this Blue Spotted Coral Reef fish was such a pleasure. I found myself smiling as it found its way onto the watercolor paper.

The 1000-step gorge is without a doubt one of the most interesting sections on the Merano High Trail. The wild Lahnbachgraben is crossed between the Untersteller farms (1,282 m) and Gigglberg (1,565 m). The constant uphill and downhill requires a certain level of fitness.

I usually have a feeder underneath my porch awning every winter. I was watching this Carolina wren as it emerged with a peanut in its beak. They love peanuts and usually get them to go. This was taken in Northeastern PA.

This is the head of my Gibson 'Grabber' bass guitar. It has one pickup in a housing that can be slid towards or away from the neck to produce a different tone.

Gloomy days when I debate whether or not to put out the seed for my birds with all the downpours when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I see a huge white shape landing on my patio. I grab my camera with no time to change settings and snap away. He looks me in the eye and then he's off in the heavens!
