I like Google's upload software "Music Manager" much better than Amazon's. Unlike with Amazon, with Google you can upload FLAC files (I think it locally encodes them to MP3 before upload). Sadly, there is no Ogg Vorbis support in either.

How do download tracks from Google Music by dcapistrano

I find their UI completely counter-intuitive. Here are the instructions for saving songs from music.google.com to your computer (had to google it! haha):

You can download all songs in the Free and Purchased playlist, one at a time.

Navigate to your 'Free and purchased' playlist

Hover over the song you'd like to download

Click the down arrow to the right of the song title

Select 'Save to computer'

You can only download each purchased track from the web 2 times.

Save songs to your computer using the Music Manager

Music Manager allows you to download all of your purchased tracks and place them in the folder you specify. Once you’ve downloaded all of your purchased tracks, you will see a checkbox with an option to download everything since that download or to download all tracks again.

Launch the Music Manager

Select the 'Download' tab

Click 'Download purchased music'

I still think their setup (jumping between the android market and google music) is a terrible idea.
