One of my favorite installations at Life is Beautiful 2014. Maser is an artist originally from Dublin, Ireland and his art has taken him all over the world, working on projects of all scales. Maser was invited to Las Vegas, NV for this art installation for the Life Is Beautiful Festival 2014.

The Pink House is an advertisement-cum-art installation in Los Angeles that utilizes a construction development site as a temporary canvas. It's comprised of three single-family homes that are slated for demolition and have been painted a screaming shade of Pepto-Bismol pink.

Treece is a ghost town in Cherokee County, Kansas, United States. Coal, lead and zinc mining in the area left the land scarred and contaminated with pollutants. On October 29, 2009, Congress voted to allow the EPA to fund the relocation of the remaining citizens of Treece, KS just as they did to neighboring town of Picher, OK.
A side by side parallel-view stereo image, scaled in size to make it suitable for viewing on VR headset. I bought a Zeiss VR One headset to view my side by side stereo images on a smartphone. I wanted to see what my 3d side by side images would look like using the headset as a stereo viewer. The first thing I found was the images for left and right were far too large. My smart phone is a Sony Xperia Z5 premium and the display is 121 x 68mm in size. The centre of the two images need to be spaced apart by a distance slighty greater than the spacing of my eyes. I found the optimum distance to be 68mm. Also for best effect the images are better if they have some barrel type distortion applied as the lenses in the headset stretch the corners outwards to give a more immersive effect. This stereo image shown here is about right for my Xperia Z5 premium smartphone in the 'Zeiss VR One' headset. Notice how small the images are compared with the area of the display ( shown by a white line). Only about 30% of the pixels in the display are used, the rest are wasted.

Artist Simon Burch and architect Paul Kember collaborated to recreate the set as part of an installation entitled ‘The Barmecide Feast’ at the 14th Factory, a new art space in Los Angeles. Saner makes use of ancient (often Mexican) imagery from his own cultural heritage, images from the Mayans and the Aztecs and Mexican symbols that he sometimes mixes up with the ones from the countries he visits, giving in this way shape to his own vision of the world.
