This photo is dedicated to my dear Sunshine Sista, Tina Moreau. Tina's daughter is working on a covid19 unit and has been using Tina's only computer. That is why Tina has been away from Flickr for the past 2-3 weeks. I know that many of you, like me, have been worried about Tina. She was able to let me know today that she is okay and asked me to get the word out to her other Flickr friends that she is okay and misses them very much.
About this photo: I was excited to view this male Pileated Woodpecker displaying courtship behavior two days ago. I live in an area where I see Pileated Woodpeckers on a regular basis. I have delighted in watching parent birds bring their fledglings to the suet feeders. However, this was the first time that I witnessed a male displaying courtship behavior. It was unusual to see a Pileated on the ground, but he danced in the leaves and then struck this pose low on a tree.
last february i have been very lucky to meet as first car a wild dog pack sleeping on a kruger road.i got photos with an unusual and exceptional low angle.
the wild dog (lycaon pictus) is a really endangered animal and looking on the photos i just found one that really disappoint me...the face of this beautiful dog is marked from a metal snare.those snares are used in massively in the kruger from poachers.fortunatly this time the snare (normally used to hunt antelopes for bushmeat) has closed in the face of the animal and not on the neck.so the dog has been able to escape.thousands of animals are catched from poachers with this deadly snares.it is a non selective trap.every kind of animal can remain trapped.
lions ,leopard and others die in the snares after hours of terrible pain and suffering...elephants can loose a leg.
the rangers many time must kill the injured animal,
but sometimes they kill the poachers........
the damned poachers!
I had a totally different idea that I was going to shoot this morning until I saw the light. Despite it only being 23° F the light was warm and immersive and completely irresistible.
ODC - good news, I found the light!
I watched this boat come into Gold Beach harbor from the open sea. During the winter season, there is very little boat traffic so it caught my attention. A man onboard was filming their arrival on a smartphone. Later on the computer, I saw that the name of the boat is Good News and it hails from Depoe Bay, OR, about 200 miles north of here.
And the symbolism struck me: A weary world beaten down by climate change, COVID-19, weaponizing of lies, increasing inequality and now war in Ukraine ... how much are we all dreaming of that moment when we catch a glimpse of good news on the horizon? Maybe it will come out of nowhere and not look like much at first, like this little boat, but one day it will come in some form. I think it will have something to do with imagination.
A big thank you to everyone who sent messages of hope and love and who said prayers after reading my I BELIEVE posting for my friend's son. Very, very happy news that following a successful operation, the final reports are all clear and he does not have cancer!!! :-D

TO BE BY YOUR SIDE – NICK CAVE
This is one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen!
I wrote this poem before the final reports were in ... I had every faith <3
A butterfly flew around your heads
as you went for a walk by a stream
a miracle happened; I was lost for words
it felt so surreal like a wonderful dream
there is more in Heaven and Earth to tell
and so much more we don't yet know
but as long as there's hope in our hearts my friends
they'll always be sunshine, angels and snow
for deep in the Winter my little snowbird
flies away to sunnier climes
and in my dreams I have two Adirondack chairs
sip home-made lemonade flavoured with limes
across the Pond, faraway you may be
but my soul is linked to yours
and as a heavenly butterfly brought you hope
and opened miraculous doors
I prayed and prayed for a miracle
now my heart is bursting with joy
I am so overjoyed at your news my friend
a wonderful miracle found it's way to your boy
your journey was fraught; at times hard to bear
but my arms were wrapped tightly around you
and never would I let you fall
you are my friend; my lovely L and I love you!

Hedgehopper's Anoymous were only around for 3 years 1965-1868 but I played the heck out of this record back in 1965.
I think of this song when I see a newspaper that highlights something that matters.

I received a couple of good news today. They all sound so promising but things are hazy at this point.
I guess this shot could pass up for HBW... :) so HBW!
Update: The good news is a combination of work and non-work related stuff. hehehe.
Paul wrote that he was not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes.
Thank you for looking and reading.

I follow my raving, rooms, streets,
I grope my way through corridors of time,
I climb and descend its stairs, I touch
its walls and do not move, I go back
to where I began, I search for your face..

Just got back from a week long float trip down the Goodnews River, in western Alaska. We flew out in a float plane, then drifted downriver, catching Rainbow trout for a genetics study. We would catch them on hook and line, then take measurements and a tiny fin clip, then set them free. It was a good way to spend a week.
And to all my Flick contacts: Sorry I haven't been around, or getting back to people on comments. This is going to be an insanely busy summer for me, and at the moment Flickr largely serves me as a way to let family and friends see what I'm up to. I'll get back into the Flickr game in the fall.
I often show you photos of old buildings that were forgotten or left behind in Pennsylvania and New Jersey when plans to flood the area for a dam project fell through. Well this is one that was saved. In fact the park service and the Millbrook Village Society moved some to higher ground when they thought the flood was coming. They collected them into a visitor's village. Empty now for the winter, but in the summer it is filled with families and costumed guides sharing what life might have been like in the past. So that is good news - not decaying, not abandoned, but saved! Have a wonderful Good Friday.

Our neighbour, underthecoversbassmasta, www.flickr.com/photos/36666349@N00/, found twenty-four tiny wood frogs in the well of his window. He had them in a plastic cup and he gave them to us. After I photographed them, the cup tipped over. I think the frogs all leaned to one side, plus the rock was uneven. Eighteen quickly hopped away. Two were left for Ontario Wanderer to record and release...
Breaking down camp on the Goodnews River, AK, first thing in the morning. We usually camped on gravel bars in mid-river, it provided a little protection from bears.
Alaska's Gov Sarah Palin has been picked by McCain for Vice President on August 29, 2008 as we celebrate Women Suffrage week, McCain turns 73, Sarah and her husband celebrates their 20 year Anniversary, and the Alaska Coin is released. Good luck to Palin, she would make one fine and beautiful VP.
Not even a good photo and taken of the TV but still made it to Flickr Explore 8/29/08
the accuser says.."You're not good enough to be His withness..
or..Wait for a time when they see you as blessed, cause today those "warts" are showing..
or...You call yourself a Christian??..
and the list of doubt and human wisdom takes over and goes on and on.
But as we go out with what i call.."Transparent Authenticity"..warts and all, but in sincerity and passion..the Judge will bring the conviction; as we bare withness to the Good News.

First attempt ever to modify real colors with post processing. Nice result...but what about reality? What do you think?
Good news bad news... While the wetter-than-normal spring and summer lead to the growth of these beautiful vines, the dry fall and winter have left them dry and too ready to be fire tinder.
The verse at the bottom reads..
"because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence." its from 2 Corinthians 4:14
This is the Christian hope that flows from our Easter celebration of Jesus's resurrection. It gives me hope and helps me grieve with joy at the funerals of those who call Him Lord.
Blessings for you and yours this Easter.
He is Risen!

Kia & Lylah out playing for the first time since Lylah's accident! (February)
1st time out for Lylah since the accident with the barbed wire. We were not out long but enough for them both to get some of the energy that was burning inside them out! They both had a great time & Lylah did awesome. no limping, or lameness at all. It was a pretty nasty day to go out but the girls just couldn't wait any longer. I will post a full update this week :)
Thank you all for thinking of her.
We miss all of you & hope to be back to Flickr soon!
For all of you that have sent e-mails and notes, an extra Thank you ...It means so much to know you are thinking about us!
