undoubtedly a perfect name,

the goliath heron (ardea goliath) is the World's largest heron.

unfortunatly its not a confident and common bird so in many years i never got full frame and clear photos.

those birds are quiet shy but i got better result using a very little boat drifting with engine off.

Goliath is a character in the biblical Book of Samuel, described as a Philistine giant defeated by the young David in single combat.

size doesn't matter, it's HEART, COURAGE, and COMMITMENT that matters. Think bigger than the challenge, be bigger than the obstacle, and act as if it's impossible for you not to fail.

Never this thematic has been more actual !

The largest heron I've ever seen is the goliath heron. Such an impressing bird.

A goliath heron (Ardea goliath) is the largest heron. In Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania.

The Goliath heron (ardea goliath), also known as the giant heron, is a very large wading bird of the heron family, Ardeidae. It is found in sub-Saharan Africa, with smaller, declining numbers in Southwest and South Asia. This is the world's largest living heron.

Héron goliath

Ardea goliath - Goliath Heron

Le héron goliath est le plus grand des échassiers. Il vit uniquement en Afrique et cette image est faite au Kenya dans les marais du lac Baringo.

A beautiful and huge decaying hall somewhere in Europe.

Along the shores of Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe. The Goliath is the largest Heron in the world.

In a crater of ash and smoke, the light fades from the beast's eyes, yet seem to remain open in their charred blackness - appraising the hero from a realm beyond death.

Le héron goliath est le plus grand de la famille. Alors que le vent souffle fort, il tente de pêcher dans le lac Baringo au Kenya.

A giant coucal endemic to Halmahera and very difficult to photograph. Despite its size, it quickly hides in the vegetation of dense trees.

Le Héron goliath est le plus grand de tous les échassiers. On le rencontre en Afrique subsaharienne où il fréquente principalement les rivières et les lacs peu profonds, qu'ils soient d'eau salée ou qu'ils soient d'eau douce.

The Goliath Heron is the largest of all wading birds. It is found in sub-Saharan Africa where it mainly frequents rivers and shallow lakes, whether saltwater or freshwater.

Commonly known as the Carolina sphinx moth and the tobacco hawk moth (as adults) and the tobacco hornworm and the Goliath worm (as larvae), it is closely related to and often confused with the very similar tomato hornworm (Manduca quinquemaculata); the larvae of both feed on the foliage of various plants of the family Solanaceae.

Tomato hornworms have eight V-shaped white markings with no borders; Tobacco hornworms have seven white diagonal lines with a black border. Additionally, Tobacco hornworms have red horns, while tomato hornworms have dark blue or black horns.[2] A mnemonic to remember the markings is tobacco hornworms have straight white lines like cigarettes, while tomato hornworms have V-shaped markings (as in "vine-ripened" tomatoes).

The Goliath heron (Ardea goliath), also known as the giant heron, is a very large wading bird of the heron family, Ardeidae. It is found in sub-Saharan Africa, with smaller, declining numbers in Southwest and South Asia.
