Caught some goldfishes at the mad scramble at the famous Japan Shibuya crossing in the wet weather!
渋谷駅前スクランブル交差点
The goldfish (Carassius auratus) is a freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae of order Cypriniformes. It is one of the most commonly kept aquarium fish. A relatively small member of the carp family (which also includes the Prussian carp and the crucian carp), the goldfish is native to East Asia. It was first selectively bred in ancient China more than 1,000 years ago, and several distinct breeds have since been developed. Goldfish breeds vary greatly in size, body shape, fin configuration and coloration (various combinations of white, yellow, orange, red, brown, and black are known). Goldfish have strong associative learning abilities, as well as social learning skills. Goldfish are gregarious, displaying schooling behavior, as well as displaying the same types of feeding behaviors. 49312

This is probably the biggest Goldfish I have seen an Osprey catching from the local storm water pond. Richmond Hill, Ontario

The Goldfish was much more likely to have been a castaway in a retention pond than someone's pet. When removed from a fish bowl and dumped in a large pond or artificial lake, a child's Goldfish can grow this big.
It was dark and beginning to drizzle when this was taken but the Goldfish really stands out in the low light. They must be very easy for Ospreys to spot in the artificial ponds and fake "lakes" of many housing developments.
"A goldfish has a ten second memory span by scientists we are told
And their span of time seems to be brief they soon grow weak and old
But how can even the most intelligent human being know what goes on in a fish's brain
As the ways of Nature it would seem beyond us to explain."

No, I am not cruel enough to put a goldfish in a glass of food colouring. It is a stock image of a goldfish. But the glass is all mine - not saying much, really. I am not entirely certain how happy I am with this. I could have spent more time on it, perfecting it, but then I could also have saved time by putting a goldfish in a glass. Except that we do not have a goldfish.
Did you know that goldfish do not have eyelids, so they do not close their eyes when they sleep?
Dear customers

It was my lucky day at the county fair: in the ring toss game, I won TWO new fish for my aquarium!
This Blythe doll is Prima Dolly Violet. The goldfish in bags were originally a pair of earrings! They were such a bargain that I couldn’t walk away without them. The background is a jigsaw puzzle.
Goldfish live in the warm pond seen in this photo of Pagosa Springs Resort. They have congregated here under the mineral ledge seen on the right side of that photo.
