View of GoldenGate Bridge from Battery Spencer

See that white post in the lower left foreground? As I was setting up my tripod for this bridge shot I noticed a dark object fly past and land on that pole. Thought to myself "has to be an owl", it was 10pm. I figured it was a GHOW, but when I put my flashlight on it, it was a Short-eared Owl. I took a few long exposure shots with it illuminated before it flew off to hunt. Pretty crazy to see a SEOW in the Bay Area in June!

San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge

Part of a challenge to shoot local for 7 days in a row when I first moved into SF. It's probably been a year... releasing this shot is long overdue.

A beautiful dusk glow bathes goldie the bridge in last light. The composition wasn't nailed perfectly, as I had a horde of tourists to my left taking go pro shots and making the ideal composition impossible. Nevertheless I can't really complain, as my expectations were low this day, and the light came in pastel with a nice flow created by sea breeze winds.

I couldn't resist trying to grab one final glimpse of the Golden Gate bridge at the end of my last California trip (especially since the sun was shining).

how you doing, jerry?

hey maurice. just getting ready to walk across the bridge.

I wouldn't go there if I was you. in fact, I recommend against it.

c'mon! why not?

them that has, never been seen in their human form again.

what? it's just a bridge! what's happened to them?

they're changed. forever.

changed? how?

hippies. all hippies. a sad thing to see.

It's impossible for me to come to San Francisco and not take time to roam the Marin Headlands. The fog on this day had the effect of making the city appear to float in a way I've never encountered before on my many trips to this city. All in all, I took this an an auspicious start to a week in the City, after a rushed drive across the mid-west.

From a helicopter perspective right over the middle of Golden Gate bridge, just before we looped under it.

RebelLUG's monthly 2hr seed part challenge this week was the Minifig Binocular.

I had few ideas but looking at piece and possible colours available - I hatched a plan for Golden gate bridge.

Sadly I only had 2 orange hands (ORANGE SPACEMAN WHERE ARE YOU!?!?) nor did I have red binoculars to do the proper 'Industrial Orange' colour scheme.

this beach inspires great conversation, without fail.

It's a fun ride to sail under the Golden Gate. I've been lucky to go several times. This day was a family trip and a stop at the beach to swim.
