We were up in the Houston area for a wedding shower and decided to check out the famed bolivar peninsula. We got up early and headed out to high island. This sunrise backlit shot of a great egret was one of the first shots I took after setting up.

I got lucky, walked to the dry cleaners via the park at golden hour when the wind was blowing the grasses as the sinking sun shone on them.

I thought I could use a little more of the golden hour on my shores before autumn blue(s) set in.
