Yea, though I walk through the valley of the Shadow of Death,
I will fear no Evil:
For Thou art with me.
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me...
from Psalm 23:4, A Psalm of David, KJV
song by Tingvall Trio, "Psalm" (Jazz- 2017)

In dedication to Brittany Roche, my nephew Michael's daughter.
She died at 29 years old, on August 12. She suffered from long term drug addiction to Opiates. Which caused complications to her health that aged her way beyond her young years.
"No one else walks upon this road
No one else bears this heavy load
Is it too much to carry in your Heart ?
Bring it here by my side
Tell me about the tears you cry
Lord knows you must be tired by now
You whisper what you never tell
Don't you know you ain't by yourself
I'm right here to help you lay it down
Is it too much, to carry in your heart ?"

A few days ago, I went to Ocean Beach to take some photos of the beach and the pier. As soon as I got out of the car, there was a perfect rainbow in the sky.
Heavy rains in Manassas, Virginia produced this amazing colorful display. As we drove down the highway, it appeared we might just find that pot-o-gold at the end of this rainbow. My 6 yr old niece was hoping to at least see a Leprechaun just over the hill !!
God says of Israel: I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. Genesis 12:3
Israel Returns to Her Homeland
That brings us all the way back to May 14, 1948. On this day, the United Nations officially recognized the State of Israel, with US president Harry Truman determining the deciding vote. The Israeli government established the State of Israel, thus fulfilling the twenty-five-hundred-year-old prophecy recorded in the Bible. Great Britain ended its mandate in Palestine and removed its troops, leaving more than 650,000 Jews to govern themselves in their own land.
In 2006, for the first time in nineteen hundred years, Israel became home to the largest Jewish community in the world, surpassing the Jewish population in the United States. From the 650,000 who returned when the Jewish state was founded in 1948, the population of Israel has swelled to over 9 million people in 2021. The significance of Israel’s reemergence in her ancient homeland is that this had to occur in order to set the stage for the final fulfillment of biblical prophecies.
To comprehend what an incredible act of God it is to preserve the beleaguered Jews throughout history and then return them to their land, consider this observation by Gary Frazier: “You cannot find the ancient neighbors of the Jews anywhere. Have you ever met a Moabite? Do you know any Hittites? Are there any tours to visit the Ammonites? Can you fvind the postal code of a single Edomite? No! These ancient peoples disappeared from history and from the face of the earth. Yet the Jews, just as God promised, returned to their land.”

I was feeling so down today. God sent my flickr friends to the rescue. I was thinking about how fortunate I am that people that I've never met face to face could care enough to cheer me up. Then I saw this photo posted by Leepak and I remembered that I had a similar one taken a couple of years ago. I needed to post it as a reminder to myself that God does indeed smile down on me! On all of us!
Standing on top of Diamond Head just east of Honolulu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu and experiencing a rainbow (in a state nicknamed the Rainbow State) and this amazing view of the Pacific Ocean was one of the cooler experiences we've ever had...and as I sit here now and look back on this scene, I am more in awe than ever before and God's wonderful creation and the absolute promise that this symbol represents. Thank you for your eternal promises!

Joel 2The Voice (VOICE)
2 Eternal One: Blow the trumpet in Zion;
signal the alarm from My holy mountain!
It is almost here. Let all who live in the land tremble
because the day of the Eternal One is coming.
2 Judgment will come on a black and fearful day;
a thick cloud of darkness will loom over everything.
A great and mighty army advances
like dawn spreading across the mountains.
Never has the world seen anything like it before,
nor will future generations ever see anything like it again.
3 The army is like a fire, consuming everything in its path—
a scorching flame burning everything behind them.
The land before them is sweet like the garden of Eden.
The land following—only a lonely desert; nothing is spared in judgment.
4 They look like horses arrayed for battle;
they charge ahead like warhorses.
5 They sound like clattering chariots racing over mountaintops,
like a crackling fire engulfing stubble,
Like a mighty army maneuvering for battle.
6 Seeing the result of God’s judgment looming, the nations writhe in anguish;
each face grows as pale as a ghost.
7 They run like champions into the fight.
Like skilled soldiers, they scale city walls;
Every man marches in formation, never leaving his rank.
8 Organized—no soldier crowds another.
Independent—each man marches straight ahead.
Together—they are unstoppable as they break through the defenses
and do not break off the attack.
9 They charge the city, scurry along its wall.
They swarm through windows into houses, like common thieves.
10 Before them the earth trembles and the heavens shake.
The sun and the moon become a void of darkness.
The stars lose their radiance too.
11 The Eternal One shouts commands from the front line of His army;
His forces are vast—uncountable mighty soldiers obey His command.
The day of the Eternal One is great, fearsome indeed.
Who can survive?
12 Eternal One: Even now, turn back your heart and rededicate yourselves to Me;
Show Me your repentance by fasting, weeping, and mourning.
13 Rip the wickedness out of your hearts; don’t just tear your clothing.
Now return to the Eternal, your True God.
You already know He is gracious and compassionate.
He does not anger easily and maintains faithful love.
He is willing to relent and not harm you.
14 Who knows? Perhaps He will turn and relieve you of this threat,
and leave behind some blessing as He goes—
Maybe enough grain and wine to offer
to the Eternal, your True God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion; set apart a time for fasting;
tell everyone to be still and stop working.
16 Assemble the people. Consecrate the congregation.
Gather the elders and other leaders,
The young children, and even the nursing babies.
Let the bride and groom leave their chambers on their wedding night.
17 Let the priests, the Eternal’s servants, stand between the porch and the altar
and weep as they intercede. Let them say,
Priests: Have pity on Your people, O Eternal One!
And do not let Your legacy—Your covenant people—
Be taunted and mocked by the nations,
who ask, “Where is their God?”
18 But wait—the Eternal One has become possessive of His land;
He will restore us in compassion, His people!
19 In response to our prayers, the Eternal will answer:
Eternal One: Listen! I am sending you a great harvest of grain, wine, and oil.
You will be completely satisfied and no longer
Will I make you a people held in contempt by the nations.
20 I will remove My armies who attack from the north far from your borders,
driving them into a parched and lonely desert.
Then I will separate them: the front line to the Dead Sea,
the rear guard into the Mediterranean Sea
with the vile stench of their rotting corpses rising up.
Surely the Eternal One has done great things!
21 Do not fear, O land. You have been revived.
Celebrate and rejoice, for the Eternal One has done great things!
22 Do not fear, you wild beasts: You will eat again,
for the desert pastures are green again!
And so will we: the trees bear their fruit;
the fig trees and the vines produce their bounty once again.
23 People of Zion, shout with joy
and happiness in the Eternal, your God;
The drought is over; He has sent the early autumn rain as a sign of His faithfulness.
He has poured down heavy rain, autumn and spring, as before.
24 The threshing floors will be covered in grain;
the vats will spill over with new wine and fresh oil.
25 Eternal One: I will compensate you for the years
that the locusts have eaten—the swarming locusts,
The creeping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts—[a]
My great army that I unleashed against you.
26 In that day, you will eat plenty of food and always have enough,
so you will praise My name,
The Eternal One, your God who is merciful to you.
Never again will My people be shamed among the nations.
27 Return to Me and you will know that I live among My people Israel
and that I, the Eternal One, am your God and there is no other.
Never again will My people be shamed among the nations.
28 Then in those days I will pour My Spirit to all humanity;
your children will boldly and prophetically speak the word of God.
Your elders will dream dreams;
your young warriors will see visions.
29 No one will be left out. In those days I will offer My spirit
to all servants, both male and female.
30 In the heaven above and on the earth below,
I will give signs of My intervention: blood, fire, and clouds of smoke.
31 The sun will become a void of darkness, and the moon will become blood
just before the great and dreadful day of the Eternal One arrives.
Was the day of the Eternal One wonderful to long for or horrific to dread? For Joel, it is both. Each of the five times this day is mentioned, he expresses a different expectation. In Joel 1:15 the prophet signals distressing locust invasions, in Joel 2:1 the day is filled with human invaders against Jerusalem, and in Joel 2:11 it is a stunning event. But in Joel 2:31 the outlook begins to change. Not only is the earth transformed with the heavenly rains and Spirit of God, but also the celestial bodies cease to carry out their functions of giving light and setting seasons for the earth. Both in verse 31 and in Joel 3:14, the day of the Eternal is positive for Israel but ominous for all other nations. Now the tables have been turned, and Zion is not a mountain devoured by locusts and human armies. It is a wonderful garden where the Eternal One meets constantly with His people, surrounded by abundant and perennial agriculture.
32 Then everyone who calls on the name of the Eternal One will be liberated.[b]
Mount Zion and Jerusalem will shelter those who survive exile,
Just as the Eternal says, “Among those who survived, He will call them.”
I had been waiting for a misty morning for weeks, closer to months. Needless to say, I was very excited, and was in such a hurry to get out of the door that I left my phone, wallet, and spare camera battery. I had three locations that I wanted to visit, so I rushed through the first shoot, but when I arrived at the second site, the mist had already cleared.
I was trying to do too much. I wish I would have taken my time at the first location, and enjoyed the mist. As I drove to the second site, I passed an abandoned orchard covered in mist. It would have been delightful to photograph, and was beautiful, but I had a ‘plan’, and I wasn’t willing to surrender it…. I didn’t think God cared about misty photography. Yes, it’s a rare weather condition in this area… but Jesus died for me. He left all of the comforts of Heaven to live without A/C or toilet paper to work a manual labor job. That doesn’t make sense to me. I would never have done it, and to die of asphyxiation and exhaustion nailed to a cross? But he did, so why am I so stubborn to trust him? If I’d surrendered my plan, and followed his urging, I would’ve spent time in two misty locations instead of one. I want to be more opened handed about life, to treat life as a gift. To consider the gifts God has given me. Running water and food are gifts. Photography is a gift. This camera and lens are gifts.
My house and my wife are great gifts, things that God promised me and delivered in miraculous yet strenuous ways. I had just lost my job, I didn’t have a down payment, or much of a savings, but God promised me the house we’re currently living in, so I pursed buying it, which is crazy. When the seller was notified that I had lost my job, she said “God told me to wait for you to find a job”, so she waited. And when the seller of her new house was informed, he was so amazed, that he was also willing to wait. But after a week, the sellers were no longer willing to wait. I was mess and I found myself praying, “Are you real or am I absolutely crazy?” and immediately my phone went off, and I was offered an amazing job. She even went on to say, that they normally don’t inform people by phone, just by email, but it felt important to call me. This is such a tender memory to me and I felt so close to God, He was touchable in that moment. Today, 7/7/20, is actually is the 4th year anniversary of his provision.
It would have been far easier to have waited and saved up for a house, but the crazy stressful process brought me closer to God. He became more real to me. I’m mostly grateful for God, and his closeness to me. When I’m focused on him, I’m by far the happiest. And this is only the beginning, a mere foretaste of heaven in a very broken world.
What are you grateful for?

Christian Movie Clip - God's Promise to the Israelites
In the year of our Lord, a male child was born in a manger in a Jewish inn in Bethlehem. Three wise men from the East, guided by a star that had never before been seen, came to the place of the child’s birth. They bowed down to Him in worship. This child was the One promised by God, who would lead and redeem the Israelites from the law.

I took this picture with my cell phone so it's kind of grainy and the fact that it was taken at 7:00 a.m. and the sun wasn't shining yet didn't help either!!! I have never seen a morning rainbow and the fact that it was still a little dark and the rain hadn't even really started makes it a miracle in its self. A second rainbow started forming right after I took this picture and you can see a little bit of it to the right just under the bottom branch of the tree. You can't out do God in his master pieces!!!
February 1st and it's been a crazy rainy day! Then it let up enough to take the dogs for a walk and this is what we saw on our way home. Just a awesome reminder in this Insanely Crazy world GOD is still in Complete Control!!! Nothing better then a sign/reminder from His Word!!!

Praying for those in the path of Hurricane Sandy.
Genesis 9:12-13 ESV - God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
Genesis 9:16 ESV - When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
God created the rainbow and when one appears in the sky it reminds us of His promise and how much He loves us. Colors are everywhere and the rainbow has all the colors that we see around us. To remember the colors of the rainbow just remember the name: Roy G. Biv....
R - Red, O - Orange, Y- Yellow, G - Green, B - Blue, I - Indigo, and V - Violet.... those are the colors found in the rainbow.
A rainbow is an arc of light exhibiting the range (spectrum) of colors in their order. A rainbow is caused by drops of water falling through the air. It is seen usually in the sky opposite to the sun at the close of a shower and also in the spray of waterfalls. Certain weather conditions have to present for a rainbow to be displayed: rain or shower and a certain amount of sunlight.

And God said: "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth." Genesis 9:12-16

Wanted to share this amazing experience again with my wonderful Flickr friends. It was
an incredible, breathtaking moment!!! Loved this experience and truly shall never forget it!!!
Our first day in Ireland we had the most incredible experience, that of driving right through
one end of a huge beautiful stunning Irish rainbow!!!! The colorful particles of water droplets
shown bright with colorful light right down to the roadbed and then we literally drove through
the section of yellow droplets of it and then of course at that point ....pooff....it was gone!!!
We looked back and nothing but the cars on the road. The rainbow is almost covering this
entire frame above from left to right just and you can make out all of it's incredible colors!!!
To remember the colors of the rainbow remember Roy G. Biv....
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.
I wa on the 405 and happend to have my filter on at the same time, and i was able to get deep colors with this shot. This has just been Noise Ninja'd and thats it!
Today wasn't a very good day for me. There are days like that for all of us. It was a hectic day and then to top it all off my van broke down. And then this!! A lovely double rainbow graced the sky in front of me. Isn't life grand?
A side note: I was about 10 miles from home when this happened. When I got home my daughter said this rainbow was right over our house! Amazing!!

1. Supernumerary Rainbow in My Backyard - May 1, 2005 (Spring), 2. Whitewater Falls in North Carolina (Fall), 3. A Backyard Promise (Winter), 4. Brandywine Falls - Rainbow on the Rocks (Summer)
Created with fd's Flickr Toys.
*****These ARE MY PHOTOS that I took of rainbows or waterfalls that included rainbows*****
#1 is a SUPERNUMERARY RAINBOW.
Info from the wikipedia on Supernumeray Rainbows: Occasionally, another beautiful and striking rainbow phenomenon can be observed, consisting of several faint rainbows on the inner side of the primary rainbow, and very rarely also outside the secondary rainbow. They are slightly detached and have pastel colour bands that do not fit the usual pattern. They are known as supernumerary rainbows, and it is not possible to explain their existence using classical geometric optics. The alternating faint rainbows are caused by interference between rays of light following slightly different paths with slightly varying lengths within the raindrops. Some rays are in phase, reinforcing each other through constructive interference, creating a bright band; others are out of phase by up to half a wavelength, cancelling each other out through destructive interference, and creating a gap. Given the different angles of refraction for rays of different colours, the patterns of interference are slightly different for rays of different colours, so each bright band is differentiated in colour, creating a miniature rainbow. Supernumerary rainbows are clearest when raindrops are small and of similar size. The very existence of supernumerary rainbows was historically a first indication of the wave nature of light, and the first explanation was provided by Thomas Young in 1804.
Sorry I have been absent for quite a few days, but I have just come down with THE flu, yes the dreaded h1n1 type. I think that I am finally on the mend, but I am utterly exhausted and am still not in the clear as of yet. I just am holding on to the promise the God said He would never forsake me in my time of need, and that has been true all of my life. So far I haven't been so bad as to have to have been hospitalized, so my body is fighting this thing pretty hard and I should make a full recovery in no time. God is good no matter what bad stuff ever happens.
I'll try and comment when I can, but I may just fave and come back when I can ...hope you all don't mind.
Just going through my old files and found this one of a double-rainbow we spotted from my back porch.
