Taken at Doolin Pier, County Clare, Ireland. I was so pleased to get this shot, especially catching the spray's reflection in the pool as well :)

I can't believe we had such amazing weather over the Easter weekend. I'm saying this, because its SNOWING outside right now... don't think it's going to lie, but I don't remember ever seeing it snowing in Northern Ireland mid April before LOL

Wishing you all a wonderful and blessed Sunday whatever you do and wherever you are :)

Thank you so much for all the lovely comments on yesterdays Sea Eagle photo :)

I apologise if I haven't commented on any of your work lately, I will try and get round soon :) :)

We travelled to a place called Orangeville, Ontario and to a conservation area there called Island Lake. It was so beautiful and the water was a rich blue...

We watched a canoeist paddle past the ducks and geese when these gorgeous mallards took off.. I'd barely got my settings sorted on the camera, so they weren't as in focus as I'd have liked, but it was wonderful to watch :)

I think it's good to know that God is in control and no matter what is happening in this world around us, there is purpose and a reason for everything. He knows what's ahead and if we read His word in Revelation, we will have a good idea of what is ahead too. All I can say is that I'm glad I'm saved and I pray that you will all know the Lord as your Saviour rather than your Judge :)

Have a wonderful Tuesday :)

Thank you everyone for your kind and generous comments on my previous uploads :)

Referring to the school shootings at Sandy Hook School, CT.....heartbreaking...they didn't deserve this...

...and thinking of what can be done in preventing this tragedy again...the children were so young...

this is not the first school, group shooting we've had in the US. I as a teacher had to deal with lockdown procedures since Columbine in '99....this all seems crazy to me, Sandy Hook being the final straw..

Legislation....guns, mental health issues...much needs to be done to make the US a safer country for its own citizens, strange as that sounds.

The Bible says in Proverbs 19:21:

“Many are the plans in a man's heart,

but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.”

This has been proved to me again this week…

Last week I went to my sister’s house and as I was waiting for her to pick me up I accidentally saw this beautiful scene which I had to photograph! After the first snap I took few more shots adjusting the camera’s settings after each one to get the best capture I possibly could. When I came home I found out that the first capture I took was actually the best one of them (it is the one you see in the link above).

That same day at my sister’s house I saw this beautiful Christmas sphere and so when I went to her house yesterday I had decided before hand that I was going to photograph it. I had everything planned and I thought that everything would go smoothly as planned! However, I spent about 20 minutes asking my nephew and niece to please let me photograph, but they simply didn’t listen to me. They kept jumping up and down shaking the floor and the ornaments kept swinging. (Everything had to be perfectly still so I could bracket the shots to make an HDR image.) I tried to “convince” them that I needed few minutes alone so I could photograph, I sweet talked to them, I “threatened” them, I tried to “bribes” them…but nothing worked! After 20 minutes I finally decided to go to the one person they fear the most, my sister, and all she had to say is few words and they obeyed her! So after 25 minutes I was finally able to photograph the scene! I must admit, I have new found admiration and respect for parents, especially mothers, who manage to enjoy photography!

But that was the least of my problems! As I came home I thought that working on the HDR image would be a piece of cake. After all, I had taken 9 exposures (which is a lot--most HDR images are done with only 3 exposures) with only 1/3 EV spacing (this should give smooth transition in HDR effect) so everything should’ve been perfect! Well, it wasn’t. The HDR software’s automated titling alone should tell you how difficult working on it was; half way through working on this photo it was already titled: IMG_7361And8more_backgroundAnd1more!!!

Just to give you an idea of how “well” my planning went: this image is pretty much two HDR images each composed of 9 exposures, those two HDR images are exposure blended together, the final resulting image was overlaid with one of the original 9 exposures (and a set of other layers) using GIMP until I got the results I liked, and finally edited slightly with Microsoft Digital Image Editor! (That’s beside all the other tries which failed!) It took me way over an hour of work!

That’s why it is so very important we follow the Bible’s advice in James 4:13-15 which says:

“Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that.’"

I am not saying that it wasn’t God’s will for me to photograph this Christmas sphere. All I am saying is that we should always remember how little control we really have over circumstances.

By the way, I really hope you like the resulting image. I tried my best not to overdo the HDR effects and to stay true to the real scene :)

Amen! I have seen this to be true and I pray that in your and my lives it continues to be by God’s amazing grace. Don't give up! God is on our side!

detimepieces: very awesome..

Dark clouds with a silver lining and silver sunrays fanned across the horizon looked as if the heavens were opening. In our lives sometimes we go through dark times but we must remind ourselves that God is there and He is our silver lining giving us light through the darkest of times.

God says to me with kind of a smile,

"Hey how would you like to be God awhile

And steer the world?"

"Okay," says I, "I'll give it a try.

Where do I set?

How much do I get?

What time is lunch?

When can I quit?"

"Gimme back that wheel," says God,

"I don't think you're quite ready yet."
