[The Great All-Knowing and Infallible] Wikipedia says that Needles, CA has measurable precipitation only 23 days a year and is nationally and internationally one of the hottest places.
As we drove across the entire Mohave (we did almost 600 miles in one day) I progressively got more and more miserable. It was so hot that the "breeze" felt like a blow-dryer on high. It was so hot that we couldn't touch the car's windows. So hot that our eyeballs actually hurt and didn't want to stay open. So hot that my iced tea became hot tea in less than a half hour. It was so miserably uncomfortable that I actually cried.
I desperately said a little prayer for God to please, PLEASE make it just a little more bearable. Afterall, we had at least 4 more hours of driving to go. About 40 minutes later we hit an area that was mostly cloudy and it was raining on the horizon. RAINING! IN AUGUST IN THE MOHAVE DESERT. The rest of our trip (all the way to sunset) was completely bearable because of the cloud cover. Seriously, God is so good. =]
