I was looking through some stuff in a drawer when I noticed the "Apple" stickers, which I must have saved when I bought my Ipod. I do like the shape of that logo :-) So here is a recycled apple card :-)

I stamped the sticker with the raindrop background and white embossed it - then distressed with Rangers "peeled paint". I mounted the sticker on some green cs and cut out. The rest of the cardstock are scraps. The white paper is actually some lovely quality business stationary - originated from Sanne's work (it was just something which they wanted to throw away because it was too heavy) - so thanks to Sanne I have a little stash of this paper to put to good use.

HA stamps used: Raindrop background S5101, Mix & Match CL266.

Other Supplies: cs, apple sticker, twine, white & clear embossing powder, ranger peeled paint, colorbox olive pastel ink, shadow ink soft sand, popdots.

Well I think it's fine, building jumbo planes.

Or taking a ride on a cosmic train.

Switch on summer from a slot machine.

Yes, get what you want to if you want, 'cause you can get anything.

I know we've come a long way,

We're changing day to day,

But tell me, where do the children play?

Well you roll on roads over fresh green grass.

For your lorry loads pumping petrol gas.

And you make them long, and you make them tough.

But they just go on and on, and it seems that you can't get off.

Oh, I know we've come a long way,

We're changing day to day,

But tell me, where do the children play?

Well you've cracked the sky, scrapers fill the air.

But will you keep on building higher

'til there's no more room up there?

Will you make us laugh, will you make us cry?

Will you tell us when to live, will you tell us when to die?

I know we've come a long way,

We're changing day to day,

But tell me, where do the children play?

Photo on left is view from top, photo on R is box with lid open (it has side hinge.)

When I buy scrapbook paper online, there is often thin chipboard inside to help protect the patterned papers during transit.

I repurposed one of those protective sheets into a gift box for a set of cards for a friend. It basically looks like kraft cardstock, but about ?twice the thickness. I worked out how to score and cut the cardstock to make a box JUST big enough to hold C6 sized envelopes.

Then I stamped, coloured and collaged. I attached a twill trim around the side of box lid and added a recycled buckle. It came from my son's old shoes 2 years ago that were too beaten up to pass on.

Hero Arts clear design sets sending happy thoughts, cute letters, dots & lines; tree, birds & messages.

P.S.- I'd be happy to share the template for the card box if enough people are interested, just leave me a comment to let me know. A good one probably already exists elsewhere too, maybe if you know of one you could post it in the comments here or on the discussion board.

Cut circles with Cuttlebug, but left some so I had cards that open.

A couple Cuttlebug'd flowers & some striped note paper that I received but would have given to my granddaughter to color on. I thought it created cute child wear. Left-over scrap of tan paper for the face.

For the girl, I used left-over yellow & tan papers, rest of striped paper from the little boy card.

The round cards will go in the altered round box to create a little gift card set.

This peacock was trying his best to hide in the grass but is not quite green enough.

Going green by composting! 95% of our food waste gets composted.

In Australia we have this brand of ladies sanitary products called 'Moxie' www.moxie.com.au . They come packaged in these gorgeous little tins you see above. The tins were too cute to not use so in some of them I store my Hero Arts buttons and then I decided to alter them a little and create note card holders and I made tiny note cards to go inside. The clear designs dolls stamps were just perfect for this size!

Materials Used:

CL289 - Clear Design Dolls

CL182 - Trees, birds and messages

Thanks for looking!

Let's go green to look our globe clean.

For the 'gogreen' challenge. And for all of you with my 'thank you' and 'I'm sorry'.

(I always apprecite all of the members cheer me up, but I've been busy on my work since May has begun and couldn't make time for looking around everyone's fantastic works. I'm really sorry.

So I took 2 hours only tonight for making a card by using wrapping papers etc. which I received and kept for recycling. )

Recycled Items:

Flower Photo Calender 2008, Flower Wrapping papers,

The Japanese sweet's washi wrapping papers and packages, A4 size envelopes

Left over items: (ricrac, Yellow HA notecard, White cardstock)

Not Recycled: Light green cardstock for the card base.

stamp used:

HA Design Blocks Dots and Flowers / S5213

HA Clear Design Asian Frames / CL275

HA Clear Design Thank You Sayings / CL341

Stamper Anonymous

The Asian Frame part is actually a left over items. (I made it before, but I didn't use it.)

The Dots and Flowers was heat embossed with white powder on a flower photo calender of 2008, the washi papers that are red, dark purple, and black are the Japanese Sweets's packages. I rolled up and made them like sticks. (Only red paper was heat-embossed with gold.)

The image of this design is 'hair accessories'. The Asian Frames is likened to a chignon cap, and 3 rolled paper sticks and yellow paper are likened to ornamental hairpins.

TFL. :)

Resubmitting for the "gogreen" challenge. I reused clear packaging to die cut the butterflies.

For the beyond paper challenge. Did a layout of my 2 year old daughter 'flying' from the coffee table to the couch. She was such a dare devil and kept doing it over and over again! (My son, in the left picture, would raise his arms like he was going to jump but never did). :)

I stamped on buttons, acetate (3 butterflies) and the ribbon... and paper too. :)
