Thank you

I was driving home last week when I encountered this location. I was originally drawn to the reflection in the pond (bottom left) when other details of this location seemed to pop out. I like the variety of things in this photo.

I was coming back from Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park early one Saturday morning when I came across this pond. With no cover around I managed to scare off all the water fowl around. I then waited for the stillness of the pond. We sure do get some amazing skies in Alberta.

The stunning Canadian Rocky Mountains immediately give way to farming and ranching in south western Alberta. This photo reminds me of the emblem of Alberta which depicts a blue sky, snow capped mountains and a wheat field. This photo is taken just north of Waterton Lakes National Park.

I was driving around last night during the golden hour and saw these old grain storage bins with the yellowblooms of Canola. The large trees behind me gave some interesting shadows to add to the photo. Hope you like.

We have several forest fires in multiple locations around where I live. Although the fires are a few hundred kilometres away there is still a lot of smoke in the area. The smoke gave way to some interesting colours and shades. Here is one from the Red Deer River this morning.

It amazes me to think that the subtle, slow moving and constant forces of nature are seemingly always at work. Take an old railway track like this one where the force of nature has bent and changed the shape of this railway track. Simply Amazing.

This photo was taken on our last night in Maui. It is taken at a little park behind Front St. in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. The image perfectly captures my mood... the reality of going home and yet caught up in the surreal beauty of this place. Aloha Maui... Maholo nui loa.

In some places, time seems to have stopped. As if even a single particle changes, all silence is broken. Mardin; is a blend of cultures that have reached the present day without being spoiled in its special location extending from Anatolia to Mesopotamia, settled in the soil as if it were processed by the hand of nature. If you want to be enchanted, visit Mardin!

Mardin, a unique southeastern city with a rich history where religions, sects, traditions and customs are blended, and an impressive beauty that extends as far as the eye can see from the hill it is built on.

It is understood from the excavations and research that the city was founded in 4500-3500 BC, the time of the Subaris who lived in Mesopotamia. The first known name of Mardin province, which was a sanjak center affiliated to the Diyar-ı Bekr province during the Ottoman Period, was "Marida". The name of the city in Syriac was "Marde", while it was called "Mardin" by the Arabs and Turks.

Located on the historical Silk Road, Mardin today has many inns and caravanserais, mosques, shrines, churches, monasteries, etc. that have existed for centuries and reflect the characteristics of the period they were built, and that are valuable both in terms of religion and art, increasing the cultural richness of the region. Mardin, which has started to attract the attention of not only our country but also the whole world in recent years, is included in the UNESCO "World Heritage Temporary List" with "Mardin Cultural Landscape" (2000) and "Zeynel Abidin Mosque and Mor Yakup Church" (2014).

If you happen to be in Mardin; it means you are in a fairy-tale city that embraces different languages and different religions, smells of history as if it came out of the Middle Ages, dominates the Mesopotamian plain, and has its own unique flavors.

Like I have said several times on my posts, "I am a morning person!" I love to get up early on days off to go drive around the county as the sun rises on a new day. This photo is from Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park. It is the Red Deer River and just moments before sunrise.

I saw these two weathered farm buildings just sitting off the highway. Of course I had to stop and take their photo. There is something about old farm buildings that I really like. Especially when they have a lean to them. This one leans to the south which tells me it has survived many northern winter winds.

Mostar, Bosna Hersek(Bosnia Herzegovina)

Mostar Köprüsü (Boşnakça: Stari Most), Bosna-Hersek'in Mostar şehrinden geçen Neretva nehri üzerinde bulunan bir köprü.

Mostar Bridge (Bosnian: Stari Most) is a bridge located on the Neretva river passing through the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The original bridge was built in 1566 by Mimar Sinan's student, Mimar Hayreddin, and was used for 427 years until it was destroyed by Croatian forces during the Bosnian-Croat War on November 9, 1993. Architect Hayreddin used 456 molded stones for the bridge. The bridge also gave its name to the city around it. Mostar became the main city of the Herzegovina region. A project was prepared to rebuild the bridge and the new bridge was put into service on July 23, 2004. The bridge was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2005.
