The beautiful turquoise-brown motmot was sitting in a tree along the road as we were driving by . Fortunately we were able to stop and he did not fly away , giving us a few moments to capture some images before he left. I was thrilled as yoou do not see them that often.

There's a feeling you give me, an everglow.
As my kids practiced going down hill on skis, I opted for snowshoes and made my way through the trees. I love the denseness and darkness of the forest and how the sun still makes its way in.

Good morning dear Flickr friends,
when I say "Give me Five" I mostly mean it in the sense of give me five minutes for the editing of a photo. I never have more than 5 minutes for an editing, otherwise it was a shit shot...;) I try to compose and to catch the atmosphere, when I have my camera in my hands, not later.
My Thailand experiences are no elitist holiday experiences. I prefer to stay in simple houses, never eat in tourists restaurants, no European food, no pool, often no room service but a maximum of life quality and communication. No big luggage, only what I can carry in my hands...;) I found it out in the last years. Less is more!

Winters have mostly been bleak and the days are almost always cloudy and boring so when a day with sunshine emerges I also emerge.
The difference a little bit of sunshine makes is unbelievable. It's like a flower was given sunlight and it just blooms.
Sunny days are the best and when you combine that with the beauty of winter it's like standing in the middle of a work of art.
This photo was taken on the lake Näsijärvi in Tampere. The ice is strong enough to support a van, so to me it's a great opportunity to take photos in an unusual location.
