I was recently thinking about some of the beautiful outfits I've been given as gifts during the past year by some truly special people I know in Second Life. So then I decided, perhaps a nice way to show how much I appreciated and enjoyed these clothing gifts would be to take some pictures of me in the outfits, and post those pictures here on Flickr.
This darling ensemble was from my friend Tabby. It's a risqué little number, but I love it!

We were gifted a bounty of tomatoes of many sizes and colours. This yellow one with the stem still attached appealed to me. I thought the cherry tomatoes would be a nice touch, but now I think that I would have preferred it without them.

EVER GIFTED (IMO: 9786827) is a Container Ship that was built in 2018 (3 years ago) and is sailing under the flag of Singapore. It's carrying capacity is 20124 TEU and her current draught is reported to be 16.1 meters. Her length overall (LOA) is 399.98 meters and her width is 59 meters.

Decorative car gifted to me for my son's birth.
Funny thing is that this car is made of baby milk powder cans, from famous brand Guigoz.
The Royal College of Music was founded in 1882 and is a world leading conservatoire training gifted students from all over the world as performers, conductors and composers. The two original buildings of the College were designed by Arthur Blomfield and Sidney Smith following a coherent hierarchy between public areas and private teaching rooms. As the RCM has expanded it has however become constrained by later piecemeal additions from the 1960s and 1970s.
The proposed scheme addresses these constraints and is centred on a new external Quad at ground level, accessed from an enlarged Entrance Hall and a new triple-height foyer, which will form the heart of the new master plan. The new project includes: two new multi-functional performance venues; a new home for the Museum of Music, which boasts one of the most significant collections of historic musical instruments in the world; new communal spaces for audiences with cafe-bar and restaurant facilities, as well as new digital recording studio facilities and additional practice and teaching rooms for the College.
The redevelopment of the RCM estate is designed to integrate the College’s buildings more closely with its surroundings, making the most of its unique location opposite the Royal Albert Hall, which was specifically selected for the College by the Prince Consort himself when he designed the master plan for ‘Albertopolis’. The design builds on the heritage and traditions of the Royal College of Music, fashioning an environment which is architecturally harmonious and timeless, with a balance between indoor and outdoor spaces. The new architecture will blend seamlessly with the much loved architecture of Blomfield and Smith and make good the circulation for the first time since originally built.
New communal spaces will address the existing changes in floor-levels and provide step-free access between new and existing spaces so that all visitors and students can find their way around the College with ease. The new state-of-the-art performance spaces will be designed to include recording facilities to enable multi-media broadcasts which will underpin and enhance further the College’s global reach in teaching music.
The scheme will enhance the College’s status as one of the premier destinations for world-class music education; strengthen the RCM as a cultural venue of national and international significance; and create a greatly enhanced environment that inspires students, professors, visiting musicians and the tens of thousands of visitors who come and support the RCM each year.
Public consultation has been carried out with the local community prior to the submission of the Planning and the Listed Building Consent applications in June 2015. It is anticipated that the two year building programme could commence as early as 2016 for completion in 2018.
A close friend gifted me slips from her plant a couple of years ago. This is the first time it has bloomed. She has since passed away and would be happy to see that it is blooming.
Often confused with the Christmas Cactus. The Thanksgiving cactus has pointed, claw-like edges on segments where the Christmas cactus has notched edges on segments that are smooth and rounded.
Like most Type 57s, the Stelvio (4 seat cabriolet) was the imperious Ettore Bugatti's very gifted son, Jean Bugatti's design and was named after the Passo dello Stelvio pass in the Eastern Alps. Although some Stelvios were completely finished in house, most of the Stelvio bodies were manufactured to Jean's design, by Gangloff of Colmar who modified the design in detail from car to car. Some of the bodies used faired-in headlights where the majority had external units. The rear seat in the Stelvio had too little legroom, it could only be used as an occasional 2+1 with the passenger seat fully forward.
It used the twin-overhead camshaft 3.3-litre inline-8 which was good for 135 bhp in standard form, though considerably boosted by the supercharger. Chassis arrangements included Rudge Witworth wire wheels, fifteen inch drum brakes and an uncluttered chassis having good strength. As with most Bugatti designs the Type 57 was relatively simple in design, but the result of complicated craftsmanship. Bugatti and Gangloff produced around 80 Stelvios, each slightly different from the rest.
Chassis arrangements included Rudge Witworth wire wheels, fifteen inch drum brakes and an uncluttered chassis having good strength.
The Type 57 Bugatti, introduced in 1934, marked Jean Bugatti's emergence as Bugatti's leader and creative force. It was the first new model built under his direction and it incorporated many features that were new to Bugatti. Its dual overhead camshaft eight-cylinder engine had dimensions of 72x100mm, offering 3,257cc displacement. The crankshaft ran in five main bearings
The Type 57 also marked Bugatti's first use of a transmission fixed to the engine crankcase and a single plate clutch. Jean created a novel independent front suspension system using transverse leaf springs for the first two examples of the Type 57 before Le Patron spied it and insisted it be replaced by a proper Bugatti hollow tubular live axle. Thenceforth suspension was traditional Bugatti semi-elliptical front and reversed quarter-elliptical rear leaf springs with cable-operated mechanical drum brakes.
Much of the Type 57's commercial success may be attributed to Jean Bugatti's sensitive, flowing coachwork, which graced the most famous of the chassis' examples. Atalante two-seat coupé, Ventoux four-seat coupé, Stelvio cabriolet and the Galibier sedan vied with the best of France's and Europe's formidable coachbuilders' creations and comprised the bulk of Type 57 production. Bugatti's wealthy clients could have the very best, but overwhelmingly they chose Jean Bugatti's designs on the Type 57.
Despite financial travail, development of the Type 57 continued with the introduction of a stiffened frame and rubber-mounted engine along with the supercharged 160hp (later increased to above 170hp) Type 57C in 1936. In 1938 the nearly unthinkable happened in Molsheim, when Bugatti finally adopted Lockheed hydraulically actuated brakes and replaced the beautiful and lightweight but expensive aluminum-spoked wheels and brake drums with Rudge-Whitworth center-lock wire wheels and separate brake drums.

This picture shows an amazing swimsuit my lovely friend Tabby gave me. It's so pretty and such a good colour, she definitely chose wisely. So, thanks for that, Tabby!
She can't walk anymore without the aid of a walking stick, but this gray-haired 91-year-old lady still has an amazing good memory.
For one thing, she still remembers the first name of my deceased mother whom she last met 60 years ago.
I was then just a little boy, so I can't recall an instant having seen her at our place of abode when she went there to pay to my mother her husband's rent for the use of a piece of farm lot. She started talking to me, however, after a young relative of hers mentioned my family name within her hearing distance, and this was when I paid a first visit to her son at his home today.
I was totally surprised when she asked me, "How's Ate Rosie?" ("Ate," a Pilipino word, is a common title of respect for an older sister, but is also used for other older non-relative woman.) In answer, I said that my mother has passed away already a decade ago at the age of 84 years old.

Gifted to me by my grandmother. I was young when she passed so I don't remember her well. She gave me this and a few other items. She was a long-time member of the Salvation Army. Where I assume she acquired it from. This would be ~ 60 years old.

every year I buy myself a gift from my parents. This necklace was designed and crafted by Katie Lees in Glasgow. It is absolutely stunning and everything I had hoped it would be.
This coverlet is foundation-pieced on muslin using leftover pieces from my scrapbag. Originally, I thought I'd make a rug, but changed my mind mid-project and asked friends and family for suggestions about how to proceed. Donalee, a friend and fellow quilter, recommended adding enough to make it into a usable quilt. So, as she suggested, I enlarged it, used no batting since I backed it with flannel, tied it, and gave it to Donalee who gave me such good directions! It measures 62" X 77," and while it does not look squared up in this photo, it's just "blowin' in the wind."
