So I got a story to tell.
If I'm working from home on a given day and if I'm lucky, I finish at 3:30 PM and almost always, I'd go for a walk in my neighbourhood after work. In 98% of the case, I walk south from my home because there are shops and supermarkets south of our home and I sometimes need to get groceries.
One day about two weeks ago, after making sure that I didn't need any grocery on that day, I decided to walk north from my home, which happens only a few times a year.
To make a long story shorter, half an hour into my walk, this gentleman (a Japanese-Canadian) tripped on uneven ground and he fell forward into some jagged stones just a few feet away from me. Both his hands suffered deep gashes and he was bleeding. He also hurt his knee. Yikes. I hate seeing blood. But he's a senior citizen so I ran over to check up on him.
He was able to stand up but his bleeding wasn't stopping. Luckily (if one may use that word) we were close to the local hospital. I took him to emergency to have the doctors/ nurses stop the bleeding. I asked if I could call someone for him but he said no. So I stayed with him at the hospital till it was safe for him to leave.
I offered to give him cash for a taxicab home, but he insisted that he could use his bankcard to pay for the ride.
In any case, he was OK, his hand injuries healed eventually and Mr. Naito called me today to thank me in person for helping him in times of need.
I told him that that is the ONLY right thing to do. We humans should help each. Anyway, Mr. Naito presented me a giftcard for coffee and I gave him a couple of silk cushions to remember our accidental friendship. I was just so relieved that his injuries weren't more serious and he didn't break any bones.
Celebrate humanity, I say!
60's Kodachrome - slide film memories
I still miss the wonderful, vivid Kodachrome colours from years gone by and seeing them enlarged on a big screen by the slide projector.
Once seen and experienced, Kodachrome is never forgotten.
Paul Simon says it best.

I still have some boxes of unused Kodachrome in my collection of photographic items which I was given as the processing date had expired years ago.
Tantalisingly, two rolls have been used but were not processed by their original owner (a professional photographer) before he gave them away to me.

Welcome to the second round of Enchantment and another fun photo contest! The fairy tale theme this time is Neverland! This is one of my all time favorite fairy tales and I know many of yours. This theme can encompass so many possibilities! We want to see your interpretation or favorite part of the story. It can be about Peter Pan himself, Tinkerbell, the Darling family, the Lost Boys, the mermaids, the Indians, the Pirates, including Captain Hook and much more! There will be some amazing prizes offered by several Enchantment vendors who were so kind to donate. Very generous amount of prizes! Most of all have fun with this magical, exciting theme and enjoy!!

This glass button is a little the worse for wear. Some of the paint has worn away, but it's not surprising for something that was made in the 1930s. The base is a hand painted gift card and there are 2 wooden cotton reels in the background, which date from the 1910s. There's not much thread left on them, but that seemed to fit with the faded button.

Here's some WIPs from my next big project. I wanted to save them for a surprise next year when I can get all of Korgot's trans-purple back in there, and then I all but finished Izotor today and I just had to post something. Yep, I'm going to try revamping all of them. I think small MOCs are where my building style really shines.
And sorry I missed the whole Christmas post. I've been really, really busy. So... happy belated Christmas? I'll try to get something up once I spend my Lego Store giftcard next year. :D

An antique button, a few old jewellery stampings, a bit of slow stitching and a piece of hand torn cotton ribbon. No plan, no logic, just this and that. :)
The button dates from the late 19th century and is possibly French. It's pretty large - 1½" wide - and it's made from smokey pearl with a brass escutcheon, which has been silvered and gilded in parts.
