No matter what hap- pens, whether the cancer never flares up again or whether you die, the important thing is that the days that you have had you will have lived.” - Gilda Radner
This is dedicated to my mom and my grandma (who is no longer with us)
My grandma was diagnosed with breast cancer 9 years ago, had a masectomy and never had to have any more treatment. My mother was diagnosed April 25, had the lump removed, it was in the lymphnodes, has finished her chemo treatments, lost her hair, her eyebrows, her eyelashes and is now going through radiation.
I saw my life pass before my eyes when she was diagnosed, I can not imagine losing my mother, I count on her for more than an adult daughter should. Thank goodness she is in treatment and hopefully soon will be in remission.
Get tested, get your mammograms, learn about it, educate yourself.
We believe that our side carries the Cancer gene, if this is the case, it's only a matter of 10 years or so that I may be going through the same thing, I pray that they find a cure and my daughters and their daughters won't have to go through it.
A mother, two teen-aged sons and a Remembrance shirt for a son and brother lost to Aids. That is just one of the Millions of stories.

Thanks to a partnership with Walgreens, DHSS' Division of Public Health (DPH) is doing free just-inside-the-nose COVID testing for hundreds of Delawareans seven days a week from 9 am-5 pm at three Walgreens locations - one in each county. No appointment is necessary for the drive-thru testing, and adults and children with symptoms or without can be tested.
The test is self-administered and the specimens collected by Walgreens employees are run at the DPH Lab in Smyrna. Results, available in about 5 days, can be found at HealthCheck Connect, powered by the Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN). Enroll at mydhinphr.com and follow the instructions.
The three Walgreens offering this viral nasal test, which indicates current infection, are:
Middletown: 700 S. Ridge Ave.
Bridgeville: 9202 Commercial Centre Drive
Dover: 1215 S. State St.

Meeting communities where they are, the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) and the Delaware Nation Guard held a walk-up COVID-19 testing event Sept. 9 across the street from the William “Hicks” Anderson Center in Wilmington. While supplies lasted, the City of Wilmington handed out “I Got Tested” T-shirts. The State of Delaware is transiting to permanent testing locations, but will have occasional pop-up sites if needed.
