a hybrid from Jos Vandeweyer , completely yellow leaves in spring . Parents unknown , possibly a collinum .

I think I need to try a different setting as they come out paler than they are - this, in real life, is a strong colour!

This is my best guess as to identity; might also be something like G. x magnificum, which is a hybrid involving platypetalum.

Flowers shown here have nearly mature stamens, anthers ready to open and shed pollen, while the five stigmatic branches are still tightly bundled with receptive surfaces hidden -- the earlier stage of 'protandrous sequential hermaphroditism', favoring out-crossing over self-pollination (see other photos here for other stages).

A beautiful flower which is native to the Pyrenees.
