The Georgia Rain on the Jasper County clay
Couldn't wash away what I felt for you that day
Just you and me down an old dirt road
Nothin' in our way
Except for the Georgia Rain

"The first man who, having fenced in a piece of land, said "This is mine," and found people naïve enough to believe him, that man was the true founder of civil society. From how many crimes, wars, and murders, from how many horrors and misfortunes might not any one have saved mankind, by pulling up the stakes, or filling up the ditch, and crying to his fellows: Beware of listening to this impostor; you are undone if you once forget that the fruits of the earth belong to us all, and the earth itself to nobody."
― Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Discourse on the Origin of Inequality

One of our local parks follows the Georgian Bay Shoreline. Years ago I used to bring our young children here to swim on the beach. Now the waters are so high, the trees are being swamped. The beach is gone. Beavers are taking down a lot of the trees this year too. Phragmites are invading the shores. As nature changes the landscape, it creates some beautiful sculptures using ice. I loved my walk down by the bay under sunny skies this week.

Georgia is an amazing country in general, but a paradise for photographers in particular. If you managed to hike to the Trinity Church in Kazbegi, in the exact moment that clouds are above and below it you might watch this:
Georgia es un país increíble en general y un paraíso para los fotógrafos en particular. Si consigues subir hasta la Iglesia de la Trinidad en Kazbegi, en el momento exacto en que las nubes se sitúan encima y debajo de ella, puedes ver una imagen como esta:
Khevsureti (Georgian: ხევსურეთი, a land of valleys) is a historical-ethnographic region in eastern Georgia. They are the branch of Kartvelian (Georgian) people located along both the northern (Pirikita khevsureti, Georgian: პირიქითა ხევსურეთი) and southern (Piraketa khevsureti, Georgian: პირაქეთა ხევსურეთი) slopes of the Great Caucasus Mountains.
