Narikala Fortress sits on a rocky outcrop in the Tabori Range, high over Old Tbilisi and the Mtkvari River. It is the most known and ancient monument of Tbilisi. Local people call it “the heart and soul of the city”.

Prairie Warbler on Snowdrop. Georgia. This was one of the 4 target warbler species for a client and his adult son for a two and a half day custom itinerary. We also tabulated 19 warbler species.
Georgia Swamp. The flowers were growing wild in that location. It was my second trip this week to that area taking different clients for their lifer Swa1ns0n's Warbler. This was a bonus from yesterday's trip. Some Prothonotary warblers have some orange tones as does this one. Lighting and post-processing tend to show that more or less.

Veronica ‘Georgia Blue’ (or ’Oxford Blue’) is a cultivar of Veronica umbrosa (peduncularis), i.e., creeping speedwell native to Southeastern Europe and Southwestern Asia. The leaves of this semi-evergreen plant turn to be red-brown in winter but fresh green leaves emerge again in spring. At the same time it produces brilliant blue flowers, forming beautiful blue carpets along the border.

This landscape is a partial composite. I ran across the shack during an old barn hunt. The scene was very messy with lots of junk and old cards strung all over. These were all removed and I added the old car, the tractor, and the field of hay bales. There are some other items such as removing power pole, etc. The day was a misting rain, so the colors are muted, which I kind of like. Enjoy!!
One of our local parks follows the Georgian Bay Shoreline. Years ago I used to bring our young children here to swim on the beach. Now the waters are so high, the trees are being swamped. The beach is gone. Beavers are taking down a lot of the trees this year too. Phragmites are invading the shores. As nature changes the landscape, it creates some beautiful sculptures using ice. I loved my walk down by the bay under sunny skies this week.

Georgian Orthodox monastery, located on the Zedazeni mountain (northeast to Mtskheta). The monastery was founded in 540 AD by Saint John, one of the Holy Assyrian Fathers of Georgia.
