No, not a prop from Dr Who or Blake's 7. This is the Haefely Generator that sits in the entrance hall of my building and looks like something from Ming the Merciless' arsenal. Allegedly some clever boffins made it power an electron microscope, probably never noticing it's potential for mass destruction. There's probably some bloke called Igor who looks after it....

We saw ridgelines whose horizon was full of these wind generators. We also saw two semi-trailers carrying a single prop blade each. Yes, they were "Oversized Loads" Texans have a knack of making money out of "nothing".
