A 20-liter water bottle has been repurposed to feed a constant supply of water into a generator. For institutions with high electrical demand, such as movie theaters or, in this case, a hotel, insuring generators are operating smoothly can be a full-time job during the blackout-prone dry season. This generator is from 1982. We still use it to run equipment like belt elevators that move sand to remote locations. She's old and still runs, but sometimes she gets a little tired!
This old bunker was made to protect a generator used to power equipment that observed launches from LC-39A and B. The location is too close for people to be present during launch. Some precautions were taken to protect the equipment, especially in the case of a huge explosion. The equipment was needed before power was available at the site, so a generator was needed. It seems no attempt was made to remove the bunker long after the generator was no longer needed.
I played around with the Black & White tool in Digikam to make this image. The clouds stand out much more here than they do in the original.
When I climbed over the Mountain Peak, I found this scenery. Working a bit more on my ship's generator. Turns out, it's gonna be larger then I initially thought, but, that isn't a bad thing ;)
The total length of this section is gonna be roughly 16inches (around 52 studs). With another 50 - 60 studs for the rear and forward sections of the ship.
The entire wiring harness is assembled on a board in the front office and then installed inside the control panel that also feeds all wiring throughout the generator.
