"CHIditarod is Chicago's Epic Urban shopping cart race, charity food drive, costumed beauty pageant, talent show, fundraiser and chaos generator all in one. And probably the world's largest mobile food drive, benefitting the Greater Chicago Food Depository."
Another great year of racing and pageantry! The weather held out long enough for racers to complete their course - another heavy snow dumping was to come in a few short hours. I enjoyed walking the 10 miles to observe the craziness of the event. Here are a few pictures from the race. Pictures are posted here for the personal use of the contestants. Any commercial use is strictly forbidden without my prior consent. Enjoy!
A friend (Ram) from the North Texas Electric Auto Association (www.nteaa.org) brought me this new cool container from "The Container Store" we built and installed an HHO Generator in his Lexus, and I just rebuilt mine in one of the containers as well, and reinstalled it.
I like this container as it has clips on the side that snaps the lid on. It has a rubber seal, and is very heavy duty.
It is also perfectly SEE THRU , so monitoring the cell plates is very easy to do now.

When the power goes out (and it seems to go out all the time), we fire up the generators and run power cords to our offices
This application generates random pixel landscapes. You can play with them by adding fog, changing the colours of the landscape to see how it looks in another season, adding rainbow and rain as well.
Please, check the application here:

This application was made by using ActionScript 3 programming language.
Here you have part of the code:
HOW TO ADD MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF ONE OBJECT FROM THE LIBRARY TO THE STAGE IN FLASH USING AS3:
for (var i:Number = 0; i < 28; i++)
//28 is the number of instances
{
_Pixel = new pixel_mc();
container.addChild(_Pixel);
_Pixel.x = i * 20;
_Pixel.transform.colorTransform = miCambiodeColor;
miCambiodeColor.redOffset = Math.round((Math.random() * 100) - 50) + 100;
miCambiodeColor.greenOffset = 190;
miCambiodeColor.blueOffset = Math.round((Math.random() * 100) - 50) + 100;
//the last lines give random colours to each single instance of the object
}
//If you have any question feel free to ask me

Argonne researchers produce trace amounts of hydrogen with visible light by merging light-collecting proteins from a single-celled organism with a graphene platform. Both graphene and protein absorb the light and re-direct electrons towards the titanium dioxide. Electrons interact with protons at the site of the platinum nanoparticles to produce hydrogen. We saw this going along the road in Denmark. It was _HUGE_. It took a while before we worked out that it was the generator for the top of a wind turbine.

In this movie, I show how spinning a coil of wire in a magnetic field causes the flow of electrons. The energy of those electrons is expended in the light bulbs, so to light them, I have to do more work when there's bulbs attached. Ultimately the power I put in is what's converted to electricity, so the more load there is, the more power I need. This is why generators are sold rated in Watts. If you want your fridge, heater, and electric oven to be powered during a power outage, that is going to require the ability to produce a lot of joules/second (watts) and require a large engine.
3rd day of exploring.
We spent about 5 hours in this enormous place and only saw about a 1/10 of it. It's an abandoned steel power plant with one blast furnace.
Since we wanted to see as much as possible we were basically running through the place, taking pictures left and right. I still tried to come up with interesting compositions... I hope these pictures don't feel too rushed.
I really want to go back and spend more time there, but unfortunately this is probably not gonna happen for a while...
Today is the final day of the 2019 Robeson Regional Agricultural Fair. My wife and I decided to go this afternoon.
This is @HomeSweetRoad's (our RV) generator going through repair for an ingested shop towel.
Those of you who know generators like this know that it is exceedingly unlikely the towel got in any way other than by a mechanic leaving it there. We can't know for sure who caused this, but we're thinking it was Able RV. They shut their business down while I had the RV in for work on my backup camera. Did I ask them for an oil change? I don't think so but that was a tough time of year for me personally and I may have just asked them to do the oil at the same time.
Since I did that service last fall and didn't notice the issue until summer, I can't say for sure they did it. But nobody can figure out how else the towel got in. Our new friends at Barrington RV supplied the photos and believe the towel came through the oil filter opening.
What does it cost to clear out a $0.49 shop towel from a generator? Almost $1000. Lesson learned.

This room, once the beating heart of Eastmoor Reformatory, has long since suffered cardiac arrest and descended into disrepair like the rest of the site. It houses an impressive array of generators, valves, fuses, wiring and pipes; the former arteries of the school.
A sketch showing how the magnet generator incorporate into the home - This sketch illustrate the varios pieces that deliver electricity to your home, and shows where the top magnetic generator is been fitted in order to maximize its effect on the electric consumption - note that it is strongly recommended to have a gas generator as well to back up the whole system
