With Adobe Photoshop adding generative AI to its software, one will never quite know what in a photo is real or not anymore. Granted, you'd be suspicious of many of these - but this is the beta version. In six months it'll be largely flawless. The image has embedded metadata that indicates it was AI modified, but not many people know how to look at the metadata. To make these objects I simply chose a space and typed in the object I wanted. How many AI created objects can you find? Or maybe easier, what's real in here?
Study for an installation by the Barbarian Group going up at the McLeod Residence in July. I am going to be vague on the details of the installation itself, but it involves Processing, Arudino boards, laser cutting, prints, and lots and lots of magnets. Pictures from the installation and opening will be forthcoming.
Regarding this image, it is more of a process study than a final piece. Learning to control the Voronoi has been quite the brain teaser and much of its nuance still remains a mystery to me. But I figured out how to constrain the Voronoi to a predefined shape in a really round about way involving vector cross products and magnetic repulsion. Fun!
Thermal pool at Yellowstone National Park. I used Generative Fill in Photoshop to remove a sign & part of a boardwalk at lower left & to add additional space at the sides.

The interior courtyard at the Prince Sakura was so pretty that even after 20 hours of air travel, I busted out the camera to get photos to moment we checked in.

Inside view of generative channel system, programmed in processing using some toxiclibs but mostly straight forward vertex shapes. Channels are created by following pixel paths from light to dark in images, simulating water flow.
The artworks are created with high-resolution (from 50 megapixel) with lots of details. If you are interested in any way to buy artworks or you just want some additional info, contact me: jc2046 [-at-] gmail.com
