UFMCC used to hold a big international meeting every two years. In 1991 and 1993, it was held in Phoenix. In 1991, I went and presented an impromptu workshop on Safer Sex, and met Alison Arngrim who was a keynote speaker.
I also met, and began a relationship with, Beth, pictured here.
Following a February 26, 2019, vote to strengthen church policies about homosexuality, Bishop Karen Oliveto speaks to delegates who formed a large circle in the center of the plenary floor. The action came on the last day of a Special Session of the General Conference of The United Methodist Church, held in St. Louis, Missouri. Following a February 26, 2019, vote to strengthen church policies against homosexuality, police prevent a protestor from entering the St. Louis convention center that hosted the Special Session of the General Conference of The United Methodist Church. Delegates voted to approve the Traditional Plan, which strengthens penalties for LGBTQIA clergy and prohibits same sex weddings. Throughout the city, moose sculptures greeted Session attendees. Titled "Moose In The City," the outdoor art gallery was based on the Chicago art exhibit, "Cows On Parade," and featured hundreds of life-sized fiberglass moose designed by Torontonian artists. Several moose were located around the Convention Centre and SkyDome.
